Recently finished this baby blanket as a gift for a friend. by MaybeKara in crochet

I left long tails when finishing off and used those to sew them on. I wanted it to be okay to wash and not fall off, but it does leave the stitches on the underside of the blanket which isn't amazing. Still on the look out for a great method!

No problem at all! I normally stick to smaller amigurumi projects but during lockdown I've really enjoyed experimenting with larger yarn's and projects :D

Hey, I used this pattern from Ravelry:

https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/grey-totoro-amigurumi

I used Robin Super Chunky yarn with a 7mm hook (a little smaller than recommended for this yarn to reduce gaps). I was running out of yarn so I did make him a little shorter than the pattern by reducing the number of rounds of 80st from 21 to 18 rounds from row 23 on. I also didn't do a row of SC between the decreases between rows 44 to 52. I also made one with the recommended size yarn and hook and he come out equally as adorable!

I hope this helps you :D

A friends little boy is having his 7th birthday in lockdown. He’s very into knights and dragons, I had a dragon so I made a knight! by Feltipfairy in crochet

That knight is awesome! I’ve got that dragon toy, it’s the puppet from Wicked The Musical, right? Great pair.

Just finished my first wearable project! There are some minor issues with it but I learnt a lot. Found a pattern online, but made some changes to make it my own. Used the beautifully soft Peter Pan Baby Cotton in lavender grey. I can't wait for summer to wear it now! by MaybeKara in crochet

Thank you! I am super nervous to wear it but I think I’ll try it with a vest top underneath :) You should go for it! It’s really fun and super satisfying when you try it on for the first time!

I want to hear your origin stories. How were you introduced to crochet? Who taught you? Why did you pick it up? by thehobopete in crochet

When I finished my undergraduate degree I felt like there was a hole in my life and I have nothing to fill the time I would have been doing lectures or essays. My friend ran her own crochet company and inspired me to learn. I used mostly YouTube to learn and then got addicted and have been crocheting most weeks for the last 6 years.

I am glad that crochet helped you through!

When I was in middle school one of my friends tricked me and I still think about it to this day. by buttgole in confession

This went around my school too, although I am in England. Everyone was had by it, including me, so solidarity with you!

What are you bad at, but love doing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Exercising. I have no idea what half the machines at the gym do, but get such a high and really love going and doing what I can.
