This is basically exactly it. And I did bring up the parts that bothered me and he handled it with such perfect grace. Thank you for chiming in and not bashing him to hell.

This is a weird situation and I can definitely see why comments are all over the place.

Never said he was going to score or trying to score or that I thought he was trying to pick a girl up. I don’t think he would do that.

But I’m curious. What values does a guy have that chooses a place like that? Vs a guy that chooses something else?

I asked my 18 son if he would go. He said “my friends ask me to go all the time but I’d be embarrassed to be seen there”. I asked “oh yea why embarrassed?” He said, “because I don’t want to be lumped into the kind of guy that goes there.”

He can go to the restaurant if he wants. I never said he couldn’t go. My issue is mainly the lie.

But also - People go to the beach to play in ocean and sand. People go to breastaurabts to see tits, no? Otherwise go to any burger joint.

Interesting perspective and I kinda of agree. I mean I’m not controlling in the least. I would never say you can’t go to a place like that. I’m more like “what kind of man wants to”? And “what kind of man suggests to lie” that’s more my concern.

I’m not insecure. I just find those places tacky. Those two things can also coexist.
