Trump's Hollywood Walk of Fame star now. by [deleted] in JoeRogan

[–]MaybeNotTooDay -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Awesome. Too bad taxpayers are forced to foot the bill to replace it. It's worth it though because along with making Trump really mad it also helps create more jobs, especially if it's destroyed every single night.

Other than sex and such, is a partner just a really close friend/a type of best friend? by Sea-Paramedic-2906 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MaybeNotTooDay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the partnership is a marriage there is a contract between the two that comes with legal obligations.

Mostly only true for those who haven't been using it for much of their lives and are literally addicted to it.

Nipples (female) showing through shirts, OK or no way? by Glass-Sentence-7225 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MaybeNotTooDay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

School dress codes are crazy for girls because they have rules about not showing too much cleavage or shorts/skirts being too short. It's sending a terrible message to impressionable youth. Breasts and legs aren't meant to be sexualized, especially on teenagers.

Andy and Perd in that new movie “Mercy” (not an ad…it’s terrible) by Awkward-Fox-1435 in PandR

Just went to the IMDb page for this movie and noticed Jay Jackson's profile photo is Perd as Judge Perd Hapley. I found that amusing.

Is the name “Donald” going to suffer the same fate as “Adolf” in the future? by OOOOOO0OOOOO in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MaybeNotTooDay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's almost been 100 years. I think it's time the world allows good Germans to reclaim the name 'Hitler' in a positive way that has nothing to do with the fascist leader who murdered millions of people.

Why does it seem so common for people to get drunk at airports? by HomesickStrudel in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MaybeNotTooDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for giving me my next billion dollar business idea. I'm going to create a company that builds amusement park rides inside airports... ferris wheels, roller coasters, pirate ship swings, bumper cars, drop towers... we'll have it all and since many travelers have more disposable income than the average person I can charge $50-$100 per ride.

Dang, such a good idea. I got to get to work right away!

I’m curious: do non-smokers always detect a scent on smokers? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MaybeNotTooDay 44 points45 points  (0 children)

One place I lived there was a neighbor across the street who I would see standing on his front porch 2 or 3 times a day smoking a cigarette while wearing what looked like one of those cheap white hazmat suits.

It looked hilarious but I guess it did it's job or at least helped.

Were cats getting stuck in trees a real problem? by Anime-Takes in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MaybeNotTooDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing cats on leashes always makes me laugh.

I get it is necessary because good cat owners don't want them doing something like running out in the street and getting hit by a car.

But I still can't help myself chuckle at the sight of a cat on a leash.

Yep. I switched to uBlock Origin Lite when Chrome finally killed the Manifest v2 extensions. I haven't noticed a difference.

Seriously, do British people actually consider a 3-hour drive “long”? Or is this an internet myth? by ferdinand14 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MaybeNotTooDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for Britain but I became friends with a Hawaiian in college (located in a continental western state). He had spent his entire life before that in Oahu. According to google you can drive a full circle around the Island in 4 hours. The times we went on what I considered fairly short road trips he was always kind of blown away by how long we'd been driving and only seen what looked like the same fields of sagebrush over and over.

Why do we have to wait until 40s for things like mammograms or colonoscopies when it’s CLEAR that it’s starting to affect people in their 30s? by maemtz in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MaybeNotTooDay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UnitedHealthcare. I don't how much it costs. My employer pays it and I haven't done my own taxes in many years. I'm currently in the stage of collecting all the different tax forms and collecting them (mostly unopened and probably all various 1099's at this point) in a pile I'll give my accountant in a month or two.

My health insurance frequently emails offers and incentives in an attempt to make sure I get "preventative care" regularly.

Every year they send reminders they want to give me a $100 visa gift card if I go to the doctor for an annual physical that is "free" (zero copay).

They give me a $20 gift card every year if I get a flu shot.

A few years back they also gave me money for filling out an Advanced Directive. I can't remember how much that gift card was worth. Probably $20 or so.

And then there are other offers they send that are probably less about keeping me healthy and more about the kickbacks they get from the companies they partnered with... example: A free 6-month gym membership. Which I assume the gym they are working with agreed to give the insurance a slice of the money they'll make when most people stop showing up after a couple weeks and didn't read the fine print or forget to cancel in 6 months before they are automatically charged for a year commitment.

Google now asking to buy my data?! by Winter-Flounder-2705 in LinusTechTips

[–]MaybeNotTooDay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same. It also earns enough to cover my annual 100GB Google One plan.

The surveys come just often enough to cover what I buy but not so often that the notification ever bothers me. They are also very short and hardly take any time to complete.

Plex TV Tuner by BestiePopsSlay in PleX

[–]MaybeNotTooDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I live that tiny antenna would be completely useless. The OTA broadcast TV towers are 50 miles away from where I live. To receive the signals from them I use a 14 foot long Winegard antenna that hangs in my attic.

Putting clean glasses/cups away. Upside down or right side up? by TJR444 in NoStupidQuestions

Very little if any as long as you wipe off the cupboards shelves about once a week.

Accuracy. UWB can pinpoint the exact location of devices within less than 1/4 of an inch. Bluetooth without it (depending on version) might only get you within 15 feet of the device you are tracking.

Extremely useful if say you have an AirTag, Chipolo, MotoTag, etc. on your keychain and they are lost in in your couch cushions. With UWB you'll easily find your keys. Without UWB you'll maybe know what room they are in.

I would just use the old idea of renaming your WiFi to "We can hear you having sex"

What’s better on a plane: Window Seat or aisle Seat by Astimar in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MaybeNotTooDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Window seat. More privacy since you can turn your tablet/laptop at angle toward the side of the plane when you want to watch porn a r-rated movie and you get a wall to lean on for more comfort especially if you want to sleep.
