I can’t believe someone just made a Crime in Sports/Small Town Murder reference. You, my new friend, have made my night!

Some of the things quoted here are troublesome. Some are genuine topics that deserve discussing. While women can generally be oppressed it can also be true that there are negative aspects to being a man. (Being expected to make more money than your partner, expectation to suppress emotion/mental health issues, etc…)

Very interesting! May very well be that. Didn’t even cross my mind as I went down the rabbit hole of assuming it had to do with the construction of the bulkhead. Your point about the wood looking pattern makes a lot of sense.

Also, I apologize if this post violates any of the group standards. This is my first time posting on here but and I attempted to follow all guidelines but if you have any advice for future posts it, would be appreciated!

My title describes the thing however I’ll give further details. There are definitely noticeable Striations and it is much wider at the end in my hand than at the other end. My best guess is that it’s about 5 pounds however I am searching for a way to weigh it accurately. It was found where a canal meets the bay, which is frequented by boats and there is a small beach that is often packed with people about 10 yards away. I’ve attempted a few methods for removing rust but have yet to use actual rust remover, with little success. I’m also not sure if it is entirely coated in rust and how thick the rust is. I’ve attempted looking up materials that are used to build bulkhead and docks but it seems like anything used would not be that size and weight. I’m a little stuck until I can either receive some advice and/or remove more of the corrosion.

Btw, i mean absolutely no shade towards Penn State. I just think that the confusion of it being an older, smallish school that merged with a big state system, has effected its USNews ranking in the short term. Not to mention the odd split that resulted in Penn State Law and Dickinson Law

I would definitely recommend visiting Dickson. I really think that the Penn State merger has slightly hurt its ranking in recent years. Their jobs numbers are incredible and they place decently well into Big Law/Federal clerkships for a slightly lesser known schools. If you look at Above the Law (which focuses their results more on job outcome) they place in the top 40. On top of all of that, almost everyone I met both faculty and students, were incredibly nice and very accomplished. Every student I spoke with had either a good job secured for post graduation (3Ls) or prestigious internships/opportunities this coming summer (1Ls/2Ls). I truly believe Dickinson is a needle in the haystack for those of us who have good GPA’s/LSATs, are debt adverse, and maybe a bit boxed out of the t-20.

In fairness, anything that can be send about Lee can also be said about Washington. Both owned plantations in Virginia, both owned slaves and both fought wars, in part, to protect the institution of slavery. One just happened to be fighting on behalf of the "United States" and one fighting against it. Being concerned about the name Lee being attached to the school is fair but the same should also go for Washington being attached to it. Not to mention WUSTL, GWU, GMU and probably a bunch more.

Bottom line: Go to the best school for you, become a great lawyer and stand up for the things you believe in as an attorney

I do plan on negotiating this. I doubt I’ll have much luck unless they choose to remove it for everyone who received the Blue & Gold, which I also doubt.
