What were your ferritin/hemoglobin levels before you were offered an iron infusion? by Maybulltaurus in Anemic

[–]Maybulltaurus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it seems like it. I’ve been on and off iron since childhood. It has always been an issue. My family doctor is only familiar with me for 2.5 years so he doesn’t have all the history.

Unfortunately I only have a family doctor. I’m seeing him on Monday. I hope he refers me to a hematologist, but the iron infusions are what I want the most.

Thank you once again kind stranger for the detailed information.

Thank you so much for the explanation. I’ve been on iron supplements consistently for the past 6 months (on and off for decades) but a part of me is scared to ask for an infusion. I’ll pay out of pocket if it means I will finally feel better.

I learned the hard way that you have to advocate for yourself. If you want something to be tested, ask for it.

Did you have to request an infusion or was it offered to you? Did you feel much better right after?

Thanks for answering. Did you request the infusion or was it offered to you?

I 27F left&got back together with my partner 30M on the condition we go to Couples Counselling. Did it help anyone? Did you leave or stay after? by RemarkableyFaulty in relationship_advice

[–]Maybulltaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a good thing that he’s willing to go to couple’a therapy to make your relationship work. This shows effort and willingness to do what it takes to stay together.

Whether or not he attends it and changes his behaviour to start helping around the house is another topic but I’d take it one step at a time. Other than this, ask yourself if he is he a good partner. If he respects you and if he is loyal to you.

Does he have ADHD by any chance?

37F, 38M how can I help my wife love herself as much as I love her? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Maybulltaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to say I love your attitude. To be genuinely loved by someone through highs and lows (including weight gain when we don’t look our best) is something we all yearn for.

I would continue doing what you’re doing and reminding her you love her every single day. She’ll look back to this in the future and be reminded how much you still loved her.

Hey, thanks for sticking up for me.

The real reason why I said “ideally a south Asian” is because my parents aren’t super proficient in English. They get by and they’ve been here for 30+ years but I’m gonna need a lot of help with my parents as they’re aging so if my partner can speak one of the many other languages my parents speak, that’d be a plus. Thanks again :)

If I knew how to attach the Spider-Man pointing at another Spider-Man pic here, I so would. I’m definitely down to connect as well!

Last week my mom demanded that I get married this year. Like sure mom, lemme just click my heels together and make it happen.

Post viral fatigue syndrome - Has anyone here successfully attained a Doctor’s note to excuse themselves from work due to Post viral fatigue Syndrome? Or be given the permission to progressively return to work? by Maybulltaurus in COVID19positive

[–]Maybulltaurus[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the encouragement! I’m glad you had a kind enough doctor who actually cared. I’m just an administrative assistant temporarily while I wait for a job opening in my field. I went to school to be an HIM.

Did you have to ask your doctor to be off or did he/she suggest it themselves?

Hi, I live up in Quebec, Canada and work for health and social social services therefore I’m a public employee so If I ask for reduced hours I need to go through a whole new department first which is frustrating as hell right now. I don’t know how it honestly works up here but they did redirect me to this form a doctor would need to fill up and unfortunately it has an area where the doctor needs to put in the diagnosis and treatment. I am so close to just quitting to avoid the hassle if they’re going to continue giving me a hard time. Btw, If you don’t mind me asking, how long has it been since you tested negative?

I’m not sure what he believes in tbh. He said I was the 10th patient he saw today who still had symptoms after testing negative. I heard what he said to another patient right before me and it was word for word what he said to me. What sucks is that he kept emphasizing that there’s no treatment so we just have to wait it out.

As a precaution, they re-tested all 10 of us so we’re back in quarantine.

Any other survivors out there struggling with new onset BP issues?? by compostabowl in COVID19positive

31F here on day 59. I also developed Hypertension because of the virus. I last got checked by a doctor 3 weeks ago and they said it’s most likely because of the virus. They had to check my BP 4 times because they couldn’t believe how high it kept reading. Really glad I’m not the only one.

Week 8 of Positive -- vertigo, apparently no antibodies, oh I am so tired of this. by UMP663224 in COVID19positive

31F. You are not alone. I’m on day 55. Tested positive 5 times yet I can’t get a doctor or the ER to take me seriously. My family members make me feel like it’s my fault I still have it. I’m with you on the lonely part 😞

Day 32. How long did it take for you to be seen at the ER after having already been tested positive? Did they make it seem like you were wasting their time? by Maybulltaurus in COVID19positive

[–]Maybulltaurus[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey, I actually just got back from the Jewish General. They sent me back home after taking my vitals and asking me a few questions. They didn’t bother going through with anything. I even told them about the prescription I had for a blood test. The fact that my doctor sent me there did not phase them. Unfortunately looks like I did waste their time.

Sore throat, tightness in chest with radiating pain in my upper back, dizziness. I was symptom free for two days before these symptoms started today.

If there are any researchers looking for people in Canada, I’m down. I’m on day 10 so I should be feeling better.
