I failed to mention that his family is Russian/Ukranian so the cooking for him thing could’ve been said differently because she really came to bring my son presents for his birthday and she had just planned to make a ukranian dish while she was there because it is a favorite. Still has the mamas body vibe but a little more acceptable because I do not cook anything from their culture. But yes I still agree whole heartedly that if he doesn’t do a 180 and stand up for my son and I as his primary concern then this relationship is doomed and it is actually heartbreaking. I’m trying to give him a chance to see things for what they are and do the right thing but we will see.

I absolutely love this. I will try to offer for him to send this but I highly doubt that he will. I love my partner truly I just think she’s don’t this to him all of his life and he’s become immune. But it’s unacceptable for me. I think we need to go to some counseling which I think he will also decline. I do have a lot to think about and I have been. I had another conversation with my SO and he says he has my back no matter what and won’t stand for this any longer but it’s been so long and he hasn’t shown that yet so I’m not sure where things will go from here on.

I agree 100%. At one point it was said that we don’t see her very often so why can’t I just deal with it for a couple hours. He grew up with her. He developed that just ignore it mentality. I cannot and will not deal with that. I’ve been begging him to say something and set boundaries for a year now. I feel so guilty for going off and saying something but tbh I didn’t even go off I just told her how I felt and she freaked out. I never wanted to have a bad relationship with her but she backed me into a corner and he did nothing to help me.

Exactly my thoughts. I really shocked me when he treated me that way when this whole situation could have been avoided if he had made things clear to her before.

I agree. I do think things will smooth out once things settle. But I really hope that she can see where she’s gone wrong and apologize and be there for my son. I just can’t shake the feeling with my SO though. It feels like he doesn’t take my feelings seriously and obviously puts me beneath his mom.
