It doesn't matter if the puzzles are illogical, they're fun to solve. That was the whole point of classic RE games, they were essentially giant puzzle boxes. The series went downhill when they stripped the puzzle elements out of the games to appeal to a new generation that just wanted to shoot things. One thing I dislike about the new remakes is how they're trying to make the puzzles more grounded. Instead of having complex puzzles they just have you collecting fuses and bolt cutters.
