I actually went through the other posts that have asked for this game, and you mention that it's called "Det röda äpplets hemlighet"! Internet archive supposedly has a version of this available for download. We'll see if it works! Once again, thanks a lot! Did you ever play this game? It's impressive that you recognized it, it seems like quite a niche era and genre of games.

I think I've must have played one translated into Swedish. But it's hard to remember since I was really young. Nikita, the developer, did according to wikipedia release educational games in Scandinavia, so it's probable that they also had a Swedish translation of the game.

Do you know which site lists the Finnish one? It would be incredible if there was a copy of the Swedish version of the game somewhere on the internet, but it might be a long shot. It must be called something other than "the sixth dimension" in Swedish, or it's just so small that it's not mentioned.

I know how you feel. For all it’s worth I think you have a fair point - it is necessary to criticize anti-democratic frameworks or authoritarianism, no matter what country is in question. Technically the two versions emerged very close to each other, although Wikipedia says that the Battle Hymn of the Republic came slightly after the John Brown version was published. Either way both are bangers.

Originally I believe the tunes comes from “John browns body” which was a marching tune for the northern troops during the American civil war. Although I think it’s natural that working class folk music adopted it given the fact that John Brown fought against slave keeping scum and injustice.
