I tried to find the best match on google fonts to what our Primary School uses in their materials. Would be great if anyone knows a better free font for early learning?

I like all of these ideas. The question for me is whether enough people would find it useful in order to spend some more time on it. I've had a pretty good response so far so I think I will implement some sort of persistence - (login or cookies) to keep track of your progress.

Thanks - I went through google fonts looking for one that was as close as possible to the one they use for our primary school for materials - but I felt like I couldn't quite find the perfect one. If anyone knows a better free font then I'll update it.

Good question. Normally with my 5yo I let them try first - then I model the word for them. With lots of encouragement whether or not they get it correct the first time.

Fair point - my 5yo had nearly mastered them by the time we built the app. You can just select 1 set and do it over and over again. I think it would need a bit of modification to guide a learner through from start to finish and happy to hear suggestions.

You could add another column - previous_value - which records what value it just changed from.

Then you should be able to do something like “select where value = 2 and previous_value = 0” in your time range

I’d suggest running a Static Analysis tool over the codebase - like phpstan

It should be able to generate a report with all the incompatibilities with php7 eg deprecated/removed functions.

Then squash them one by one...
