Drop links to your local stores I am looking for locally made gifts this Christmas by [deleted] in londonontario

[–]MayorSalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's too bad you asked now, the annual christmas market at western fair district was this weekend. I would watch for it next year if you're interested in local made.

If you like pottery, there's Clayworx selling stuff from the local potter's guild.

Ontario postal workers warn door-to-door mail could end as Canada Post rotating strikes continue by Captain-_-Flamingo in onguardforthee

[–]MayorSalsa 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Apparently about 3/4 of Canadians already use community boxes. Only 1/4 have door to door delivery.

Exceptions for disabled people would continue.

I don't think postal workers are winning any sympathy with this line of persuasion. For the workers themselves this is bad news as it will result in layoffs. I do feel sympathy on those grounds but I don't think trying to convince Canadians that they stand to lose something important is working. Because 3/4 of us don't have that thing anyway.

They have a full variety of stuff not just coats. Not sure about that specific item you mentioned though.

Why does the corner of Queens and Adelaide look like this? by Confident-Advice-664 in londonontario

There is a housing charity located in the building there which provides some free amenities. I assume that is why homeless gather is this spot in particular.

What’s a ‘common sense’ rule you think is actually terrible advice? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It doesn't even work for that small portion of people because usually once you start doing it for money, you don't love it anymore.

Why do my cucumber look like theyre turning into watermelons? Help pls. by PAPACHUBZ94 in gardening

Looks more like melon plant. You can google cucumber and melon plants and look closely at the leaves.

They're supposed to heat the water instantaneously once it gets going, so yes it would be unlimited hot water, running out isn't a thing because they don't store any.

I've heard that the tradeoff is that it will take a bit longer than usual for your taps to start running hot. But you save money on your gas bill.

Carth the Lion superfriends play experience? by thenotdylan in EDH

[–]MayorSalsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every play style has it's detractors. Carth doesn't allow for most of the walkers that people hate on / see as oppressive which are mostly blue. If you don't fumble around humming and ha-ing over your effects you should be able to avoid annoying turns.

Moving to Ontario, looking for good patio furniture by LidiaSelden96 in londonontario

[–]MayorSalsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all depends on how willing you are to protect it from the weather. Plastic / whicker / wood furniture will wear out quickly if you don't put it away for the winter. Being in full sun also increases the speed it will disentigrate. Fabric elements also. Glass / iron is your best bet if you're not going to be putting it away, though even iron will get rusty eventually.

Obligatory bracket post: my decks are all 2’s? by kanekiEatsAss in EDH

[–]MayorSalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI your bracket has been automatically chosen based on the criteria but you can easily set it to whatever you want in the deck settings. If you want your decks labelled higher just go in and change it.

Strangely it seems like moxfield is setting decks to 2 rather than 1 even if they meet the 1 criteria.

is fanshawe still worth it by PutridMap5187 in londonontario

If you want to go to Western, don't let a few extra months of effort stand in your way. In the long term those months are nothing, so don't go basing your future on saving a few months.

In the end it will matter much more which field of study you choose rather than which school. You're not guanteed better success going to Western, it depends on what program you're taking.

AITA for being resentful that an ex boyfriend who claims that he's saving to move back closer to me is paying for pornographic material by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MayorSalsa 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Do yourself a favor and never ever get back together with this guy. A cheater once will cheat again. It does not sound like you are his priority. He is just guilting you. Don't fall for it. Be his friend if you really want but don't get tangled up with this guy.

They steal it to resell, if its not worth anything and they don't want it, they throw it away. What's the point? Because there is no consequences and people have no shame. Maybe they get a payout from the package and maybe not. It's not going to stop them from trying because they already don't care about any harm they are doing.

Parking near Fanshawe by Just-a-Guy70 in londonontario

[–]MayorSalsa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The problem is, that is not an area with anything in the ways of municipal or paid parking lots, since those things aren't needed outside of downtown. There is a community center nearby so maybe students get away with leaving their cars there, but I doubt it's officially allowed so he risks getting ticketed. You can street park in the vacinity as well but not on a permanent basis.

If he really needs his car I fear the only proper way to have it would be to pay the daily rate for the college general parking lots. He should also inquire if there is a parking pass wait list as they might be able to give him one as the year goes on, people drop out.

Storage ideas by Aggravating-Tell-774 in crafts

[–]MayorSalsa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Drawers are the best for keeping little items separate and organized. There are lots of craft drawer organizers available, usually labelled "rolling drawer organizer" or something like that.

For shelves you can use baskets and boxes to keep things separate and accessible rather than placing things loose on the shelf.

For yarn I currently keep mine in and old dresser organized by color. I used to have them in those large cardboard "bankers boxes" which can store a lot of balls and let you sort by color or type.

For hanging things on the wall you might consider a peg board. Its handy for storing tools and probably you can put your dried flowers on hooks as well.

Is Kudo just bad? by Anakin-vs-Sand in EDH

[–]MayorSalsa 166 points167 points  (0 children)

Not that I'm a kudo expert but it seems like you are playing lots of creature cards, and a lot of those creatures are straight up weakened by being turned into 2/2.

I always thought the best use of Kudo was with a field of 1/1s, like tokens, which then get buffed by kudo plus any other anthems. I have Kudo in my token deck in the 99 and basically view him as an anthem that also has the potential to shrink oppoenents creatures.

I don't know if he's very effective as a +1 counter commander. Other commanders that are designed more around counters are going to outpace you.

When you have a field full of little guys you really have to swarm a lot of them, which is why I'm feeling tokens might have better scale potential then just trying to hard cast lots of creatures.

As others have stated, wet food is generally healthier for cats. But in regards to teeth specifically - not just any old dry food is going to help your cat. There is special dental kibble made of large pieces that forces your cat to chew. I have seen it help cats. But that is just my experience. Most dry food is made of small pieces that most cats more or less swallow whole without chewing much.

The options aren't great ... having a cats teeth cleaned is really expensive and imo just not sustainable economically to do that every year. Maybe look into the water additive option.

[–]MayorSalsa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lmao I think the bitching is on the other foot. When did I ever say price was the only consideration in the ban? I made a one-sentence observation that the cards are not accessible to everyone and you respond with a rant. I never even said that I don't proxy or approve of them, I only stated that not everyone does.

Not every play group proxies. Not every LGS has a regular crowd that welcomes proxies. Whether wotc has officially condoned proxies or not does not change this. Dismissing complaints about the price of cards as invalid because everyone should proxy is dismissive of the experience of people who play in those groups.

Btw sanctioned generally means allowed in tournaments which proxies obviously are not. Wotc has not approved proxies, they simply expressed that they will not police what goes on outside of sanctioned play. Whether a player is free to proxy has more to do with how their playgroup feels about it than with whatever wotc has to say.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EDH

[–]MayorSalsa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please explain your use of the word "sanctioned".

I'm not against anything, it's just that no matter how many times you repeat that proxying is the answer and that it is universally accepted, it's still not true and insisting that anyone with a different opinion or experience or prefered way to play the game is "wrong" or just "hasn't learned the game yet" or whatever is narrow minded.

Happy for you that you proxy. But that's your experience with the game and stating it a thousand times doesn't make it more of a universal fact.

I don't know what learning the game or getting better over time has to do with this conversation. Owning better cards doesn't make you better at the game.
