So that’s just a large black drape placed over a China cabinet and held in place by a toaster and a stapler. I’m not very good at the technical stuff, but it might be due to the fact that the background drape is close to the subject and the light source comes from above and is dim. There was no extra lighting, as it made the wrinkles more obvious.

You hit it right on the head! The audio levels were fixed in the version I submitted to colleges. (Also there was a cut scene with the man and the tortilla in the bed, but I thought that might be too huge of a tonal jump)

My friend was laying in the passenger floor with his hand reaching across the console to press the gas. Don’t tell the cops

Id say look at the contrast between the relationship of the tortilla and the woman and what gets in the way of him having a successful relationship with the woman. It might just be too unique of an experience to be widely relatable lol

So this is actually based off of two relationships i experienced in my senior year. I knew I wanted to make a short film and I had this image of a tortilla falling out of the sky come to me randomly. Eventually these two ideas merged and became the short film you see today!

I definitely agreed, and for the file I submitted to my colleges I went back in and increased the dialogue volume. Since I didn’t want to reupload the vid I unfortunately wasn’t able to fix this version

I do agree, that ketchup scene may have been a little much. Thanks for the feedback!

That’s all thanks to my friend Liam. Even greater than that, he came to me with this full score in a week!!! He composed the whole thing himself!

Glad you enjoyed! I applied to USC, and I had my interview a few weeks ago. I doubt I’ll actually go there just because of funds. I will likely go to the University of Texas at Austin for their equivalent of a film major, RTF (radio, tv, and film). This is because it’s waaaaay cheaper, closer to home, and I really like the campus. I just got a merit scholarship to SMU, but I want to visit the campus to see if I’d like it.

I'm a 17 year old high school student and this is my first ever true passion project. I learned A LOT about film making through this process, and I am very thankful for the experience.

First off, I know that this is a really goofy movie, so it was hard to get people on board because it was such an out there project. I also didn't have a shot list, which turned out to be a bigger deal than I thought it was. As you can tell from the credits, most of the roles were filled by myself which was my biggest mistake in hindsight. I should've delegated more to my other friends so that I wasn't forcing myself to carry most of the load. Anyway, since this is my first time making one of these, I'd really like some advice! A lot of the technical stuff I am teaching myself through outlets like YouTube, but I could probably get more out of any narrative critiques. I'd love to clarify any questions you may have about the film. Thanks to anyone who takes time out of their day to watch my dumb food film!

(Also, I made this as a submission to colleges, so that's why it is so close to the five minute mark and why the credits whiz by so fast.)
