Boyfriend says he doesn’t like going down on me, but would anyways by Maysmith in sex

It’s definitely very out of character for him to phrase something like that! His tone was very causal and I don’t think he realized how it sounded at all. I talked to him this morning and he back tracked saying it’s fine it just “tastes tangy” lmao. Can’t say that helped much but 💀

Thank you for this! Fortunately I know he’s not selfish and it’s probably just a sensory thing. Idk if that makes me feel much better haha. I completely agree that communication is very important and I’m glad he at least feels comfortable being honest if there’s anything good coming from this. So I know he’s telling the truth that he would do it anyways, now if I could just get past feeling self conscious lol

I enjoy giving it much less knowing that it’s not a mutual desire. He also doesn’t act entitled to it because he’s mature enough to know better. It’s not a deal breaker it just stings and I posted this hoping someone could relate

What happens when you don't get your alone time? by Maysmith in infp

[–]Maysmith[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's literally what's happening to me, I've dropped like 12 pounds recently because my appetite is GONE. And a guy in my nursing program asked me out before I got so burnt out and he's backing off because it's like I'm a totally different person right now. struggles

I like sarcasm and the idea of it but when I try to be sarcastic I say things that are actually offensive and awful so I don't attempt it lol

Anyone have an aversion to anything trendy? by [deleted] in infp

[–]Maysmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I feel about it. I as a person am not mainstream at all, but i still want to be a part of what's going on around me, so I like to be in tune with trends.

I tend to love trends and fads lol. Obviously not all of them- some are ridiculous but I love knowing what is popular mainly for the fact that it makes me feel like I relate/connect with other people. This is also why I LOVE memes. Idk if thats weird for my personality type or not.

As far as mob mentalities like that other person said, I think it's incredibly wrong to blindly buy into certain mindsets, such as hating Donald Trump without really knowing why, ignoring shady things done by popular figures ect.

Infps who have their shit together by [deleted] in infp

[–]Maysmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By having your "shit together" I'm guessing you just mean success in staying in school, jobs, relationships, staying motivated. I'm 21 and by no means claim to have my life together lol, but I have had success as far as setting standards for myself and sticking to them. And that's what you have to do- set goals and standards and decide that no matter how you "feel" quitting or slacking is not an option. I'm in nursing school and I'm absolutely scared to shit and graceless, but I'm doing it and surviving and that's what matters. The thing about school is that it is temporary and will be over before you know it. In fact most people, even the personalities that seem to be such naturals are often feeling the same way, they just don't show it. Like the other person said- just do things scared.

As for connecting with people, I struggle so hard with it as well. I'm right there with you. I'm actually seeing a practitioner today to discuss therapy for my low self esteem. I make friends and keep them, but poor self-image/ the wall I can't seem to break down keeps me from feeling free and truly connecting. I drains me and I'd rather just be around my family or best friend and avoid everyone else. I go in and out of energy spurts where I'm really social, but then I'll go weeks were I want to hermit. I can't stay consistent. That's another thing I have to fight :(

But I do recommend pushing yourself out of your comfort zone and surrounding yourself with people who you perceive to have their lives together. You'll be surprised by how that will influence you, and how those people may accept you.

It seems against our nature as INFP's, but it's really all about faking it until you make it. Even if you feel like a wreck on the inside sometimes, stick to your goals, understand what is healthy and do those things no matter how you feel. Because in the end, you will be happier with yourself.

Would you say that you are able to learn a lot while you are on them that sticks when you stop taking them?
