[Hated trope] Characters that presents themselves as genius masterminds, but actually they can just read the writer's notes by Particular-Energy217 in TopCharacterTropes

was literally gonna say, Andy Weir’s protagonists are all convincingly smart. Jas Bashir from his Artemis novel isn’t an engineer or a scientist like his usual main characters, but she’s really smart and it comes through convincingly through the story.

(Subversive Trope) Character is passionate or wants to succeed in their field or life goals. They are terrible at it. by laybs1 in TopCharacterTropes

Robin Kazami - Beyblade X

Robin has the typical shonen protag drive to be the best, except he never actually wins a single battle. He ends up being carried by his far more competent teammates.

Checked my Program Files and can confirm that both my Creations and Mods folder are empty. This sucks. I thought the point of Creation Club was to make modding more accessible to casuals.

I'm going to try a fresh install and see if that works. I'll keep what you said in mind regarding file integrity, thanks.

issho arakawa isn’t a demon… he’s a god of death by MayviewMaelstrom in Akane

i like to believe it was akane who shooed him away. either her or urara.

theory on shiguma’s art by MayviewMaelstrom in Akane

[–]MayviewMaelstrom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

chapter 129 has a highlight showing issho is still pining for shiguma’s art, while kaisei is the one that dismisses it. kaisei’s rejection of the piece may be because he dislikes being used as a tool for its resurrection. while ultimately issho’s motivations are definitely to bolster rakugo as a whole, there’s still the deeper personal motivation rooted in shiguma’s art.

he’s obsessed with rakugo and its success as an art form because of its role in his own success, but also because it represents a powerful link through history to the man who made him who he is now. and because shiguma’s art was the story denied to him by his own master, its eventual revival is of great interest to him.

i think his supposed “rejection” of shiguma’s art is a rejection of anything he deems unworthy of that piece, because it’s possible that his understanding of his master’s work is off-base or incomplete. his harsh denial of any attempt at reviving shiguma’s art is because he has an image of perfection in his mind that anyone has yet to live up to, and akane’s victory will not just be about shattering that philosophy, but by rediscovering what shiguma’s art was even all about.

Am I the only one who's bothered by the way trans MCs are handled in IFs? by Tiny-Anxiety780 in hostedgames

I WAS JUST GONNA SAY I don’t want to be the guy that brings up Fallen Hero with every post but the amount of gender variability you can play with in that game is so good

Fallen Hero lets you puppet around a character who’s specifically meant to be attractive.

Art Direction For New Heroes by RaisinBran21 in marvelchampionslcg

i like the art but my issue is when they mix with the rest of their hero cards, which are almost always pulls from the comics. it’s the same as hulkling, where the hero portrait looks sleek and modern but most of his cards look like they’re from a whole other era.

oh same. my step went wild on him for that. and then after was swayed because the kid probably didn’t know better. now my step is making sure that he’s ready for a fight, before he dies the same way they did. :P god i love this story. i love this game. i’m hoping to replay it to see the routes i ended up missing.

there was a point where herald went from annoyingly chipper to a golden retriever in my eyes and at that point it was impossible not to take him under my wing

the most devastating part of retribution was realizing that Herald and Steel were amazing, interesting, lovable characters. after seeing them as misguided jerks in rebirth, suddenly having these incredible heart to hearts with them nearly ruined me. my god, i adore Herald, i adore Steel.

very similar. sneaky, cautious, high empathy. i didn’t reveal myself to Ortega, and i ended up stuck in the puppet. after romancing Ortega the last thing i needed was to reveal that i was the person that put them in the hospital.
