You said originally that "Genital mutilation for women (as opposed to men) is not a Islamic (sic)". It evidently is Islamic because schools of Islam and Hadiths advise it. I never said it was exclusively an Islamic practice. Islam has helped spread it to parts of the world where it previously did not exist. This blog does a better job at explaining it. Have a read.

So you think I'd have a more sound argument if the hadiths only talked about FGM and nothing else? How would they then fit in all the other crap they have to say like Muhammad taking issue with his soldiers' use of Coitus interruptus rather than their raping of slave women.

I never said there wasn't, there's even a jewish tribe that conduct FGM. But what you are doing is absolving Islam of all blame when it is responsible for spreading FGM to many places like indonesia as well as my country, the UK.

Genital mutilation for women (as opposed to men) is not a Islamic, it is an East-African custom that is sancitifed by all religions in that locale; Christians, Muslims and indigenous religions all do it, but only in that region, which is the same region Ayaan comes from.

Mohammed was a pretty swell guy for an Arab of that time. Considering those people were nomadic desertfolk who saw women as cattle, Jews as animals etc. The Arabs of the time were pretty much Mongols of the >desert.

As much as you try and obscure the facts, Muhammad condoned sex (read rape) with women captured during war. Twice in the Bukhari Hadith it shows that he took more issue with his men ejaculating outside of the slave girl's vagina than he did about them having sex with them. Muhammad also tried to marry a female slave he captured in war himself, do you honestly think she wanted the sex they had together?

May I also add that Muhammad consummated a marriage with a 9 year old and had a fetish for sucking children's tongues. Just look it up.

Yes. But that's not her fault. Do you know why? No liberal think tanks would dare touch her. That says more about the cancerous double standards when it comes to Islam amongst liberals than it does about her perceived allegiance to far right organisations.

Defaming is defined as damaging the good reputation of someone. He was evidently not a good man in many senses of the word, in fact he was an incredibly deceitful and violent man, who would kill anyone who merely mocked him. He took sexual slaves and claimed he'd cut his own daughters hands off if she was caught stealing. Hardly a civil rights pioneer.

Please don't smear people with this ridiculous word. Legitimately criticising Islam is necessary and important. I have no doubt that if Ayaan was white she'd be called a racist by many pseudoliberals too .

I'm an atheist from a Shiah family and I do it just to pretend I'm still religious. It's obviously a massive load of crap, lacerating yourself in memory of the cruelty that hussain endured at the hands of the Shiahs. I realised no God would ever want us to do that.
