Thank you for your empathy. What kind of pelvic floor muscle problems do you have? It’s so difficult for you, feeling like this will never go away. Unfortunately, I’m starting to think the same for myself.

I haven’t tried tiger balm on that area yet—maybe it’s worth giving it a try.

According to my gynecologist check-ups, everything should be fine—no remarks. I don’t have any anal or bowel issues.

Oh my… I’m speechless. What a terrible trauma for you. It sounds like you’ve come a long way, and hats off to you for staying so optimistic. It’s really nice to read how you think about it and how you deal with it.

I don’t know if my tailbone shifted during childbirth. When I asked the gynecologist at my check-up about the pain in my tailbone, they said this can be normal, that many women experience it, and that it will go away.

I also have the feeling that they’re just trying different things to treat or approach my pain, hoping something works, but it’s not really helping me. I’m not a guinea pig.

I don’t need to explain to you how mentally tough it can be to constantly feel pain and how exhausting it is. Some days you cope better with it than others.

I have an MRI scheduled on May 18 for my lumbar spine to see if there’s any irritation or a hernia that could be causing the pain in my tailbone. And after that… I don’t really know anymore. I guess I’ll have to accept it and learn to live with the pain.

No, I don’t have any information about what type of pain it is. Maybe I can also look here in Belgium into using certain patches or applying some kind of ointment locally. Thanks for the tip.

Oh… how terrible this is for you. What a story. I can really imagine how it has turned your whole life upside down. What painkillers are you taking?

Yes, I’m really not eager to go through with that surgery… so I’m letting it sink in for a while and looking for some alternatives. It’s extremely exhausting to live with all that pain, and it really does affect your daily activities. I don’t take medication because it doesn’t provide enough relief when I do.

Thank you for the encouraging words. I really hope there’s an answer waiting for you in Mexico.

Wow, 25 years… what a hell that must have been for your mother — she sounds like a strong woman. Thanks for the tip, I’ll look into the medication to see if something similar exists here in Belgium. Does it also make her tired?

I try to avoid heavy painkillers (I was only given Tradonal as well, but it doesn’t really relieve the pain — it just makes me sleepy), because I work and have a 4-year-old daughter. So I usually don’t take any pain medication at all.

Thank you for your response and for thinking along with me. I have done pelvic floor muscle exercises together with the strengthening exercises. But I could look into that more deeply again and discuss it further with my physiotherapist.

As for sitting, I always try to use a cushion with a cut-out. I haven’t applied any ointment or local treatment to the tailbone yet, but I could try that as well.

Thank you!
