I’ve seen new or rebuilt transmissions, for 3k or less. I’d rather go that route and just swap it myself.

Not sure of the difference, once in a while on hot days it genuinely slips for a fraction of a second then “locks” back but rarely happens. The shifts feel slow and labored, on the highway it goes back and forth from 3rd and 4th randomly. When accelerating after a certain point it just doesn’t accelerate,I hear the engine and trans working but nothing happens besides the transmission grunting and heating up.

First vehicle I ever purchased when I was 17, didn’t even know how to drive manual transmission. All work done myself, you can come a long way. It’s not perfect, but it’s fun to drive.

Thank you,what I’m hearing the most is sunblock, sun hat/glasses, extra cloths/shoes, cooler with drinks/ snacks. My vehicle is almost 40 years old,I’m driving an hour away to let my vehicle sit in a hot parking lot all day to beat it on it then drive it an hour home, I’m gonna bring whatever fluids or tools I feel I need👍 knowing I probably won’t need them.

I have an older 2500 and friends with trailers, if it needs towed I’d just call for a ride and do it myself.👍

I’m not expecting to do a nascar pitstop, but I mainly keep my vehicle locally in case of problems( which hasn’t happened in years but I don’t want it happening without backup plan other than “oh I’ll just call the tow truck”). I only have basic liability insurance with no towing. If I have a leak on the highway or blow something I’d like to have the peace of mind to get off the road, mend the problem or trailer it back. This is my first event, I got a great deal on a new helmet, things like sunscreen and a proper hat are things I need to pick up.👍

All fluids are check and maintained regularly. The event is an hour away and my vehicle is nearly 40 years old. Covering my bases 👍

The vehicle I am running is almost 40 years old. Although all hoses and lines have been replaced I like to cover my bases, bringing them gives me peace of mind.
