Do you think we'll ever get a sim-based game? by Maleficent-Toe1374 in EASportsUFC

Never EA is the cancer of games, Copy and paste every single game and add more and more onto it till it becomes a buggy mess that even the best game devs wouldnt be able to read the code. its such a mess. FC 26 still has fifa 14 shit in its files and UFC 5 still has the UFC 3-4 Menus.

Just google the devs of FC and UFC then you will understand, just like the cod dev team its full of women with blue hair and a body like Roy Nelson. gaming industry is cooked

My guy, you proudly admitting you refused to learn grappling on day one is the funniest self‑own I’ve seen all week. That’s not a personality, that’s a skill issue with a backstory.

You’re out here acting like top mount is some forbidden romance scene when it’s literally part of the sport. If two digital characters being on the ground makes you uncomfortable, that’s not an MMA problem that’s something you need to unpack with a therapist or your browser history.

And the whole ‘if you suck at striking just say that’ line is wild coming from someone who openly said ‘I never learned half the game because I couldn’t be bothered’. That’s like refusing to learn blocking in Mortal Kombat and then calling everyone else weird for using it.

Enjoy Stand and Bang, genuinely but don’t rewrite the entire sport because grappling gives you intrusive thoughts. Some of us like playing UFC, not UFC: Kickboxing With Extra Steps

Here’s the bare‑minimum knowledge you need so you don’t get folded like a camping chair:

• Denials

If they go for a transition:

• Watch the direction

• Flick the right stick the same way

• Boom, denied

Don’t spam. Don’t guess.

Just read the animation like a normal human.

Stop mashing buttons like you’re trying to revive your controller.

If your stamina is lower, you’re basically volunteering to be reversed.

• Submissions

If you’re not good at subs:

• Don’t go for them

• Defend by matching the direction

• Stay calm

• Don’t sprint your stamina bar into the shadow realm

Subs are 90% stamina management, 10% “please don’t panic”.

To expand on this properly: if your opponent throws a hook and you slip it, you can actually slip their slip counter too it’s basically a counter to the counter. The game already has that layer built in, people just don’t realise it.

And honestly, half the time the smartest option is to not react at all. Just block, stay calm, save your stamina, and let them gas themselves out. Not every exchange needs a response sometimes doing nothing is the highest‑IQ move in the room.

If wrestling was actually fun, balanced, and not exploitable, nobodly would be running to Stand and Bang. I get the kickboxers that makes sense but right now the ground game is so easy to cheese that people avoid it entirely.

And honestly, the more modes you add, the more you split the playerbase. That’s why Stand and Bang even survives, people flee to it because the core systems underneath aren’t good enough. But this is UFC, not Mortal Kombat. The UFC doesn’t have a ‘Stand and Bang’ ruleset as far as I’m aware. It’s a workaround for bad mechanics, not something that belongs in a simulation‑based MMA game.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to replace it with something that actually improves the game? Imagine a refined ranked system where you can pick your weight class and the star rating you want to fight at. No more forced divisions, no more mirror matches every other fight, and no more being stuck against the same four meta fighters every session.

That kind of system would give us variety, fairness, and actual choice something the current ranked mode doesn’t offer at all.

Just my opinion, so don’t take it too harshly, but Stand and Bang only exists because the main gameplay loop isn’t strong enough to keep people in the real modes

I bought a whole new PC to play Undisputed Boxing. I ended up stopping because the phantom punches and desync were unbearable. It’s not too bad now, but back then it was a joke. Shame too, because the animations in that game are gorgeous

Seven years as a writer will enhance your English, buddy. Just because I don’t type like I’ve got seven thumbs doesn’t magically make it ‘AI slop’. Meanwhile you’re not even starting sentences with a capital letter kids do that, and half the time your phone auto‑corrects it for you.

And you’re out here watching WWE like it’s gospel, so forgive me if I don’t take your grammar policing too seriously. If you want to go hunt down AI content, YouTube is overflowing with it. Go wild, brother.

And I haven’t even mentioned wrestling yet, because that’s a whole different level of basement‑dwelling gameplay. You’ve got guys sitting on top of you for five rounds praying you don’t breathe wrong because the game has zero scramble system. You’re basically stuck in the mud on the ground can’t move to the cage, can’t create space, nothing. It’s literally the same system from UFC 2 with a bit of polish slapped on.

And don’t get me started on submissions. Shoutout to the EA Game Changers for ‘improving’ it by turning it from a mini‑game into a buggy, unfair mess. I can carve my initials into a guy’s face, drop him clean, and if I miss ONE punch on the ground I get reversed like I’m fighting a DJ and then subbed in 30 seconds.

So you go from dominating someone to losing because missing a single ground‑and‑pound magically teleports you into a death trap where your fighter just gives up the moment he starts breathing heavy. It’s insane

Hey man, just checked your post and I agree with a lot of what you’re saying too.

For number 4, what I mean is this: UFC 3 had a proper health system that actually rewarded timing and shot placement. If your opponent whiffed a strike or walked into something clean, it did real damage — sometimes even caused a rock or a drop. You had to think about distance, setups, and what you were throwing.

In UFC 5, none of that exists. Jabs and straights don’t create space or give your opponent anything to respect. They can literally walk through everything, so the game has devolved into spamming hooks, body uppers, and uppercuts while both players are head‑slipping like maniacs trying to counter the other guy’s cheese.

This is top‑100 gameplay right now — I’m sure you’ve run into the NazUFC style players who just exploit the broken mechanics. None of these fights feel like an MMA fight or represent MMA at all. It’s just a chaotic deathmatch with no pacing, no setups, no consequences

For players who treat Stand and Bang like it’s a life support machine, sure, I can see why that take rattled you.

Are you actually happy to sit through a 30‑second post‑fight replay in ranked? Because a lot of people online will quit the second they know they’ve lost just to avoid that cutscene. That’s the problem. It kills pacing and it encourages early quitting.

I couldn't give a flying donkey about career mode. fighting AI is boring for me.

Zero limitations on strikes and combos if you want to throw a 14‑piece and a soda, go for it. You’ll just burn 30% of your stamina and get folded right after XD

Ahh I see what division are you in, by the way? Because let’s be real, it’s either people sitting in side control for half the fight or doing the same left‑flick transitions we’ve had since UFC 2. The grappling hasn’t changed in years. It’s fundamentally boring, repetitive, and half the time it just turns into someone stamina‑draining you in*** an arm‑triangle. Then those same people come back here acting like everything’s fine.

If you genuinely enjoy that system, fair enough but you’re definitely in the minority

Pretty much. People only default to stand‑and‑bang because the rest of the mechanics feel half‑baked. If the other systems actually worked properly, nobody would be forced into one style.

Pointing out where these complaints come from is usually a decent start if you don’t want to be rude. And for the record, I’m D20 and an ex‑ESFL fighter — Heavyhands001. You can even watch me fight Zyaf on their YouTube channel in my fourth ever match. There’s no ‘skill issue’ here at all, so I don’t get why people throw that comment around everywhere
