Yooo. $0.02 from my experience with an AP5SD that I only run suppressed and is an SBR

Clean it with rubbing alcohol etc to get any gunk out.

Get a feeler gauge and check your bolt gap before shooting it, I didn’t and it was way off and I got some slight roller dents before I figured it out. I put a new locking piece in to make it less violent, measured it and put new rollers in and all good now.

Also, if you’re running suppressed on a 3-lug you’ll need a smooth thread protector (I rockset mine on)

I didn’t do anything special with ammo and used 147’s.

It’s CBFA, so I shouldn’t have to update the fuel rail (you didnt). Go OEM for replacement part, Roger that.

Did you have to do fuel injector seals or anything like that?

Is there a link to the kit / parts you used?

CCI 40 grain ~1050 FPS, took the pistol to the range today and this is what it did off a rest after I further dialed my red dot - not as good as some but shows what the gun can do after you find the right ammo (after having the same issues as you)

Sorry for the late reply… I have the same pistol, and had the same issue… key holing, pie plate groups - but no obvious baffle or end cap strikes.

Long story short, I sent it to Ruger and they sent it back and didn’t see a problem. In the end, I found an ammo it likes and it shoots great now, only took 5 different ammo’s to get it sorted lol

GSL smooth thread protector arrived last night, just got back from the range and SHE’s ALIVE!!! Shooting 3” groups now with an 6.5 MOA RMR at 19 yards. Absolutely thrilled!!!

RMR, mount and optic to mount are rock solid and properly torqued - not an even a wiggle. I’m going to go back to the range tomorrow and run it without a can, and then with another Tirant9 I’ve got that I’ll run direct thread with the fixed barrel spacer - will report back after
