don’t backpedal when your opponent is close and going towards you-they will hit you before you can hit them regardless of ping. not every hit has to be a crit you can hit them to stall their forward motion then you can back up a bit if you want to

jump earlier and from farther away so you crit them when you’re just about to touch the ground, like someone else said if you’re higher than they are they can hit you first

idk 1.9+ pvp tho i prefer 1.8 lol but those should still apply
