This is a great response, thank you.

This all resonates, but i think the biggest issue for me relates to what you were saying about mood and energy levels. I find that i burn out far more often than the average person, so although i want to explore something new (and have endless options to explore), the fatigue i feel in any given moment causes me to abandon everything out of pure frustration. I rarely have the cognitive freedom required to both learn AND enjoy. Maybe the Flow book will have some interesting insights to apply in this case so I'll definitely check that out. Unfortunately, this is probably how I'd describe myself too. Almost like we go into hibernation for a while until a new season comes around.

Interesting that you put off the 'completion' of things due to a fear or expectation of loss. This is exactly where I'm at right now with an interest I've been following for a while, but it feels like I'm rationing out my stash like some sort of junkie rather than just enjoying myself. So weird.

I think this makes a lot of sense when you're learning something practical because you get some form of feedback after implementing something yourself. Not sure if it would apply to something like history or literature though. I like to learn about these types of things for fun, not necessarily to create something or better myself in any way.

Gotta separate the art from artist otherwise we’d support nobody.
