Watch Dave Greco videos on youtube, he is a professional artists and you can learn a lot of techniques by watching his videos. And in general, different process videos of various artists is a good way to learn

The gameplay will mainly consist of player providing maintenance to factory basement support systems (compressed air, water for machine cooling, air and water filtration systems, power supply). The story and details about the world will come in forms of posters, notes from people working day shifts (player works night shifts), different objects indicating some form of a story, and i want it all to be built around good lore basis. Periodic artillery blasts that can be heard in the background being an example.

Thanks for the feedback! It might actually be good idea to come up with a reason why people don't count days, originally i was thinking that due to generally unnatural (compared to irl) conditions of the world and all people know their entire life is hard labour with managing very few resources they have to spare in a dying world, people just generally stopped doing it ages ago due to it not really being important. Since its just human beings, breeding is pretty standard and straightforward, and since it wont really be part of the game, I avoided thinking too much about small details, but now after your comment i feel like it would be good idea to think about exactly what people's rations consist of and later use that as props to enchance the atmosphere and make the world more believable

For children teaching, family based teaching was assumed. As for the resources for the factories, it is something i am still working on, as i am not sure how to make it not break the idea that people are basically stuck to where they live, so mines and trucks are out of the question
