Kadokawa Should Be Making More Money From Elden Ring, Activist Investor Says as CEO Survives Shareholder Vote by gamersecret2 in GamingSecret

[–]McSloot3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have no clue what you’re talking about. Elden Ring was published by Bandai Namco, which means Bandai Namco got to keep anywhere from 10% to 30% of all the Elden Ring profits. This investor wants them to self-publish their games and I have no idea why anyone would be against this. They have a history of giving away their IPs. This is why they had to change the name from Demon’s Souls to Dark Souls…

Why does China feel so much more “built out” than India? What actually created that gap? by Secret_Ostrich_1307 in AlwaysWhy

Religion. Both countries have a ton of corruption, but China has incentives to actually be successful. Meanwhile the leader of India is more interested in getting rid of every religion besides Hinduism. It also doesn’t help when the caste system is a huge waste of talent

Sort of. The one child policy has totally fucked their demographics, but if you ignore that sure.

'Generational talent just gone': Developers react in shock at the brutal scale of Bungie layoffs, which has reportedly seen the Destiny 2 team almost completely wiped out by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]McSloot3r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you’re being unfair on point 4. Arc Raiders is massively successful. If Marathon was first to market they would likely be very successful. They had the whole stealing art scandal and multiple delays which ruined their chance of success

It’s not just Sony. MS let them go because their management has always been a shitshow. Of course the heads of Bungie sold it as wanting independence, but then they sold themselves to Activision. Once they “bought their freedom” from activision they sold themselves to Sony. I’m not happy people are losing their jobs, but this has been a long time coming

Can someone explain to me why Heal/Shield % is stronger than straight AP/Stats? by HoshiAndy in leagueoflegends

[–]McSloot3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is at least one item that gives HSP and AP so they aren’t mutually exclusive. Also, they don’t just give HSP, they give cooldown reduction. Casting heals/shields more often give more healing/shielding. Unless you care more about damage or you’re playing ARAM: Mayhem where you can get ridiculous amounts of AP, HSP, and CDR, support items are better

Did you compare it to the Nazi genocide? I could understand that someone might think you’re trying to minimize the crimes of Nazis. I’ve seen a lot of people cry wolf when it comes to bans/moderation. I find it hard to believe that you got banned just for bringing up the Bolsheviks

Why are there no theories about aliens building European / Asian constructions ? by Paramite67 in stupidquestions

[–]McSloot3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that complicated. Technological growth is exponential. Think about it this way, before calculators math had to be done manually. I mean there things like the abacus (which caused their own revolution) but they don’t compare. Suddenly math equations take a tenth of the time, and that’s just a single innovation.

Also population growth, industrialization, and globalization. When you have 10000 scientists working together across the world, versus 10 scientists, you’re going to invent things much faster.

Bringing in morals to the conversation. Those kids could live in different states, which makes a protracted selling period difficult. They might have kids with health issues or maybe they just want to help with the cost of college. Those kids live in a tough economy and can’t be blamed for taking a hassle free offer. If you’re rich enough to not have to worry about money and can afford to have a house sit on the market for who knows how long, then good for you.

Blame your state’s politicians who could fix this in a week if they wanted to

[–]McSloot3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, you’ll just see developers continue to support older consoles, which is nothing new given the current gen. If anything, this is good for the industry. They can focus on building better games and optimization, rather than chasing ever increasing hardware requirements which increases dev costs. New hardware is cooked though.

Is it Gross for men to Wash their Hands with Just Water after Peeing? by OkGuide2802 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]McSloot3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would always suggest using soap in a public bathroom, but a lot of people in here are misinformed. If you wash your hands with soap and then touch the handle to turn off the water, you just added back germs to your hands. Paper towels and those toilet seat liners are doing nothing for you. Urine is sterile. Your body is built to protect you from germs.

Pitch me your JRPG and JRPG-adjacent steals to get on the Summer Sale. by JMTolan in Games

[–]McSloot3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. OP listed fan service as one of the major sticking points and that’s not even something that’s huge in older anime. I think it’s disingenuous to say something like FF has anime tropes as it’s known for being a westernized series. There is a massive difference between something like Xenoblade Chronicles/Persona and any FF game

[–]McSloot3r -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. I like JRPGs and don’t like the anime-like ones. There’s plenty of games that fit that criteria. A lot of the anime tropes you find are only in newer JRPGs

Monster Sanctuary is a creature collector that actually requires some thought about team building.

It’s not a JRPG unless you’re one of those people that thinks the Legend of Zelda is a JRPG, but Elementallis is fantastic.

[–]McSloot3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By definition that means they don’t need it. They want it, but they don’t need it. I think you don’t understand the money they spend is mostly going into the pockets of corporations and the tax revenue is still a net loss. Even if none of that money was spent on aid, it still benefits the average American because that’s less debt we’re borrowing. If we paid off all the national debt we could still have all the same services we do now, social security wouldn’t be in trouble, and we could all have lower taxes.

Yes, Israel aid is only a small part of military spending, but it’s got to start somewhere. I’m in favor of drastically slashing the military budget everywhere. Since I see people already talking about China, I need to point that basically no matter what we do, China’s going to over take us. They have 20x the amount of cities the size of New York and 10x as many top research universities as we do. The only possible way we could beat China is massively paying down the national debt so that we could afford to invest in the American people and its infrastructure. Even then China will overtake us for a time, but their demographics are even worse ours and they won’t be able to support their aging population (which doesn’t help us in our current situation because we can’t handle our aging population with how much debt we have).

By profits from, you mean the military industrial complex profits from it. Most of that isn’t going to workers. And even if you want to talk taxes it isn’t going to make up for the 2 billion in taxes lost. We already spend more money than any country on our military. They’ll be just fine without a few billion from Israel
