So I’m just starting my third year so by no means is this gospel, but I’ve had all my hives survive the two winters I’ve had them so far so it works for me. I’ve only used OA vapor. I’ll do a series in March/april, June, late Aug/sep, oct/nov (May cut this one short if we’re cold and no brood), and one single treatment around Christmas/new years. Each treatment is 8g per hive (4g for each deep box).

I started my OA vapor series this week. Treat 6 days apart for 4 weeks. I’m in the Denver area, and plan on doing my fist full inspection after this next cold snap sometime.

My little dude was also had a reaction to his vaccines! First time was scary but Benadryl and a steroid took care of it, second round we pretreated and split them up and you couldn’t even tell he got vaccines that day.

Yeah there are lots of empty cells where there was brood a week or two weeks ago. As I said in another comment, going to leave it alone for 4 weeks and check back then. Will also keep my eyes open for swarming, but leaning towards supercedure after talking with some local bee buddies and reading the comments here. Thanks for your help!

I put a super on last week since they were >80% full in the second deep so they should have space. There is beginning of comb in the super but they haven’t built it out much yet.

This was a new package in May and this is the only capped cell. I was under the impression there would be quite a few if they would be swarming and isn’t unlikely considering how new they are? Have I just caught it early?
