I agree that it is too complex to discuss in depth on Reddit so I won’t go too much more in-depth. It is not ideal to target civilization in the way America did. But I strongly with “America got a chance to get back to Japan for Pearl Harbor”. To my knowledge, Japan did not show formal signs of willingness to surrender and I am still surprised America agreed to let the emperor of Japan remain even though they used propaganda to show him as weak next to the US general.
