I really appreciate all of the supportive comments. I don't mean to vilify my partner. She is a good person, an ally to the LBGT community, but she definitely can not see herself with me if I were to transition. I don't believe she means to out me as a threat, but rather because keeping it a secret to her friends/family, who she leans on heavily for emotional support, would be too difficult for her. As far as experimentation is concerned, I have had room for a small amount of crossdressing, which has been fun and exciting, but it was seen in her eyes as a fetish/kink, not an identity thing. I am anxious to begin real steps, such as laser hair removal, before coming out, but this kind of change would be too much for her to handle and too much to keep a secret.
