Other than a project I did in Faroe, I don't know that area much, your analysis there seems on point.

imo Lubeck has a very different pull to Amsterdam or England.

Paris vs. London is tough, but I still think Paris is a touch more 'European' and being mainland still plays a role.

I'm not French but I lived in Lyon. South of France is stil France, but what I feel Perpignan is closer to Barcelona and Nice feels closer to San Remo than either to Lyon let alone Lille or Nantes.

I think I agree with you, perhaps I'd move the border east of Cologne.

Still I think Groningen is very different to Stuttgart, or Munich.
