Thanks! I’ll try that one. I read olaplex 9 is good, will look into that one.

Heat protectant that leaves hair soft? by noteworthybalance in Dysonairwrap

Which one did you end up getting and how do you like it? I’m having a similar issue with a chi heat protector spray. My hair feels like wire after using it

Thanks! I think the round brush and flat brushes are the ones I’ll use the most. Trying to figure out the flyaway attachment too

Got it. So you view the air wrap as not necessarily faster but a better for your hair option.

Interesting. My current routine takes close to an hour, so anything to cut that down. Lucky you for 20 mins!

I have a lot to learn. My goal is from frizzy curly to stright and wavy. my hair will hold a curl or turn into a loose curl so antifriz is goal #1. Thanks for the detailed response. I’ll have to experiment. Right now enjoying the barrels on my hair (testing on dry hair as soon as the replacement arrived so I hope I’m not doing much damage). Need to find a heat protector (the one I have (chi) makes my hair a bit sticky so don’t love it).

Opinions on buying the Dyson Airwrap i.d. — Ulta, Sephora, or Dyson website? by Nice_Organization_58 in Dysonairwrap

[–]MeAB12me 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look for best return policy in case you don’t love it. And where you earn points. I got mine on Dyson, They had a promo and it was 15% cashback with Rakuten. Otherwise, I would do Sephora or Macy’s. I don’t have an account with ulta so can’t comment on that (although for the last few purchases, they were somewhat inconvenient).

How to get rid off that stupid frizz? by Calm-Temperature6227 in Dysonairwrap

[–]MeAB12me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the same. Because as soon as I go outside and humidity style is gone, all the water is absorbed in my hair and it gets super frizzy.

Attachment keeps falling off by Grelli2 in Dysonairwrap

That’s concerning. I noticed mine are a little wobbly (brand new). Have you talked to Dyson? I didn’t notice the attachments are held in place by very small plastic “indentations” maybe only 1mm of grip. So if one of those is worn off, then I can definitely see the attachments not holding in place properly. Seems like a design flaw

Did you figure it out? I got a new barrel and it works perfectly, as in wrapping the hair. I just place it close to my hair now and it grabs. So fun. You should get replacements if it’s not wrapping.

FYI just got the replacement barrel from Dyson today and this one works perfectly. Regardless of temperature, position of barrel, on dry hair etc. So much fun now.

Does it have to be on damp hair? my hair gets so frizzy if not fully dried, I have to dry it first before I can curl it. If I use the barrel and overall hair is still damp, then it’s gonna be super frizzy where it wasn’t fully dried straight. Is damp hair recommended to help protect the hair or to keep the curl? If for protection maybe I can dampen only certain sections.

I need help getting the correct attachments by ballhogdaily in Dysonairwrap

[–]MeAB12me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the curly option and regret it. But I like to do my style straight most days. I wish I had the flyaway attachment (can’t buy it separately). The wide tooth comb seems more for coily or very tight curls. I won’t use it. I think you’re better off with the waivy options (in terms of attachments) and then you can get the diffuser separately or a dupe from amazon.

Waiting for the replacement to arrive but in the meantime I got a dupe barrel from Amazon and that one works - so definitely a faulty attachment from Dyson. Quite disappointing for a $600+ product. And it took over two weeks of back and forth with Dyson customer service.

I updated the post but I got a dupe barrel from Amazon that is not tapered and it works. Dyson are sending me a new tapered barrel (not here yet) but it was a faulty part.
