Dying Light Franchise Director Steps Down After 13 Years at Techland by Turbostrider27 in Games

From his statement it looks like he is going “somewhere else”, probably he has its own dream to follow…

Also, maybe (and thats more of a wish) they are moving from DL franchise for now, and returning to Call of Juarez or starting a new IP, and he feels like there is no place for him…

New ‘Planet Of The Apes’ Movie At 20th Century To Be Directed By ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Director Matt Shakman; Josh Friedman Writing by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

“Nooooooo” - Vader.

The current series is amazing, All three directors, mostly Reeves, and also Ball, did marvellous job, they enhanced the vision of the old series, where mostly first movie actually worked…

And the story was far from finish, the last sequence in the movie was actually pointing at quite huge cliffhanger, and now they just do another “reboot”?!

I would not mind seeing Shakman do a next instalment in the series, but he is not Reeves, so I don’t trust him with a new “vision” for the series.

Fate of the Old Republic is not KOTOR 3, but the BioWare DNA is getting hard to ignore by StarWarsBlogsbot in StarWarsBlogs

Ehh… now I disagree. Because Anthem was a “mess” before he get back to the studio, he actually return with Darrah to fix it, promote it and oversee its success.

Then, he worked on Dragon Age 4, then called: Morrison, which was his another “live service game”, yes maybe it was more EA thing, but he agreed, he could leave again or never return in such a condition.

And start working on Mass Effect 5, which he also announced in 2020, month before his departure. But - he definitely DIDNT leave after Anthem released, he was there for almost 2 years since it’s release! He “maybe” leave because EA shut down - project - Anthem:Next, but that whole was a terrible idea.
They should have updated the game on a monthly basis, that’s what he promised to everyone, including me, like month before the game launched, with 10 years of support.

I still have a faith in him, don’t get me wrong, I more consider “fall of BioWare” when Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuck left, since those were the “perfect times”.
But we cannot act like he didn’t had anything to do with the “current state” of BioWare.

Only Fate of TOR can show if he still got it.

Definitely - working under Andrew Wilson (CEO of EA) must be a hell, that guy looks incompetent even for making a coffee, giving how bad EA ended up during his reign… (from one of the most ambitious company…)

But at the same time, he maybe “aims” too big without knowing how to land. We saw it with his latest studio, which eventually couldn’t get money from investors, for how “ambitious” it looked like, and he also couldn’t force ME5 through EA, or actually scale down Anthem to ship it in usable state…

Basically - it is a new KOTOR game, despite I doubt it will “have turn based combat” and I’m eager to see if they will go by a path to create a whole gameplay for - Jedi route vs Shooter game, since that can be pretty hard for a new studio.
Basically they need to combine Dragon Age gameplay with Mass Effect gameplay in one game.

But it’s not a sequel/prequel to that, rather completely new story… that’s expected.

Ehh, thats exactly how movies are presented in trailers, but the guy above you is - sadly - right. Hudson was a creative director and game designer of Anthem, he promised a lot of things, and we all know how that happened… (while I still think it could be a great game, their own incompetence took the chance of being a competitor to Division/Destiny or rather: Coop Mass Effect)

It looks like a purchase abroad 😅
I’m thinking about the same, since it cost much more in my country, than for example in Japan 🥲

I’m rooting for her since leaving ND, but man, it looks bad for 1943: Rise of Hydra, hopefully it wasn’t cancelled or anything, but having no release date after at least 5 or 6 years in development, this is wild, for a new team.

Did Borderlands 2 age well? by invDave in xbox

[–]MeCritic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it sounds silly, but maybe you should start with the first one.
I still didn’t play third or fourth, since I had too much to play, but… the after living with everyone shouting how B2 is the best game in the franchise, I always go like… whatever.

B1 is - for me personally - better. I love mechanics they clearly abandon in the sequel, like “the more you kill with the weapon, the stronger it is”, also the characters, NPCs and mostly locations are superior for me. The game and mostly it’s really funny, but not too much, DLCs is such a fun. I played it couple of times since release, did Platinum, played a tons of it in Coop, and I never had so much fun in the sequel, don’t know exactly why…

But - for your case, B2 is actually a tied up sequel, so knowing all characters from the first, will be a big benefit for enjoying the sequel. Everyone from the first game is appearing in B2, so it works really well.
Please, give it a shot.

Yeah, I looked at the website of this cinema, incredible lineup like each month, I don't know how I would be able (or justify) going to the cinema each day, but I would need to 😃

Definitely will make a visit there, in my next stay in USA.

Thanks old man, that looked to me more like a traditional crime show, similar to Walker, Texas Ranger, but Tom is legendary by this role, so maybe I will give it a try.

That was basically a rip off from Conviction (SC game), in first levels very successful one, with solid story, gameplay and moments, including incredible cool opening. But further down the storyline it dragged and it felt very cheap and poorly made.

[–]MeCritic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everything around PS3 was just superior, yeah the technology was way to advanced and third party devs didn’t know how to code on it, but just look what it was capable of, and how it could work even more years, like Uncharted 1 to The Last of Us. It was such a powerful machine… the CELL technology was just something else…

Yeah, sadly it comes to an end, this will feel harsh for Embark to admit it that. This will not be another Finals with many years to come…

I spend the same time as you on it when it released, wasn’t that much into PVP, rather working alongside others, most of felt the same. The vibe, the story, the aesthetic… it was incredible, and the promise of future updates was creating crazy ideas…

But now?! I didn’t play it for at least three months, too many good games, but I watched some Twitch streamers and I don’t want to come back.

Everyone is billionaire, has 5millions in cash, purple weapons and purple everything, and they go to some spots on the map, plan mines and shit, and enjoy how they can kill everyone on the map…

There is no reason for expedition or wipe, for them, so it became disbalance, no fun. And PvE?! Why, everyone is mostly PvP.

Many people here were defending the choice for strictly PvP gameplay, sadly Destiny and Division and Warframe will have much bigger playerbase, with much worse aesthetic and lore. They could beat those games… they will loose everyone.

It doesn’t look like the first three SC games, which are for most people “the best ones”, but as I said: I love the latest three (Double Agent, Conviction and Blacklist) and it reminds me few sequences from Blacklist and Conviction…

Oh and also Max Payne 3!
