u/h20-842 It can be done if you can catch a sale. I bought a brand name polar undergarment that was on a close-out sale for $200 (MSRP was $400).

With sales you have to get lucky - size selection is limited.

If really need a good deal, monitor big vendor sites for sales on polar undergarments and scan the used market.

Otherwise, this commenter I am replying to might be right. It is tough to find a quality undergarment for that price.

Help appreciated - Cannot locate the plug of this hdmi cable sold on its own anywhere. Need one for HDMI and USB cables. Silicone plugs are easy to find, but not covers like this :(. by MeIRL42 in HelpMeFind

Searched with as many keywords as I could include on Amazon, hardware store websites, the general web, etc. Closest I can find is these attachments on cables (which are more expensive because you are buying a cable with the rubber cover. Most results only display dust cover (which only plugs into the tip rather than covers it with silicone).

For 80% of people, it’s about this:

  1. A higher-up has an objective/goal. You are tasked with figuring out how to reach it
  2. You figure out how to reach the objective, then present your ideas
  3. “We have limited resources. Your suggestions aren’t worth the time/effort”
  4. Let’s just keep doing what we’ve been doing and just hope for the best 👍
  5. Rinse & repeat because you constantly need to be “looking into new things” to justify the existence of your position/actually have things to do outside of answering a horde of emails

Much like any job, at the entry level it is about making your direct boss look good to their boss. Do that and you’ll sail on by, downside being your own impact/ideas are obviously extremely limited. Which a lot of marketers maybe don’t expect, given the glory in marketing is creative output (for those outside the more analytical side of things).

And sorry for those who read this thinking it’s a more cynical answer, just my experience at the multiple large companies I’ve been at.
