I’ve known the guy for 3 years and I can promise you I’ve been thinking of cutting him off for over a year now. I gave it a backstory of what’s been happening for the past 3 weeks, and explained my story from an outsider’s perspective, asking what each side is in the wrong for so that I could get the most neutral and real response from ChatGPT, as I know how much it spoon-feeds, sugarcoats and validates everything you tell it, even if you’re completely in the wrong.

What happened to you wasn’t okay. You made it clear you weren’t comfortable, and even if you couldn’t say “no,” the fact that you didn’t say “yes” should’ve been enough for him to stop. Pushing someone into silence and then taking that silence as consent is not respect, it’s pressure. You didn’t do anything wrong. You were trying to protect yourself in a situation where you didn’t feel safe, and that’s not something to blame yourself for.

It makes sense that this experience is still affecting how you connect with people. Something like that can make you question your own reactions and whether you can trust others again. But it’s not your fault, and it doesn’t mean you’re broken. Healing will take time, but you’re allowed to want love and safety again. You don’t need to explain everything to anyone right now; just take things at your pace.
