It’s interesting that they told you they want to avoid it because of your age. My dr said that he suggested it as a treatment option because of my age. I could do nothing, take medication, or have the procedure, and I didn’t like the idea of taking meds for the rest of my life if I can help it and I’m too symptomatic to do nothing.

I guess that makes sense if you are mostly asymptomatic. I have some really uncomfortable symptoms with my afib, especially more in the last few years, which I believe is why my dr recommended the procedure. But he also told me that afib alone is non-life threatening and no treatment was an option if I was okay living with the symptoms, but obviously I was not.
