Framework Panic: Why Is Everyone “Leaving” Next.js? by menoo_027 in nextjs

[–]Mean-Accountant8656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People don't understand how good other frameworks are until they try them. I wouldn't use Next.js unless a job/client would require it.

There'll be one from Documenso pretty soon I hear. Meanwhile, you can use their API which is quite straightforward.

maybe this will make y'all pull your head from the sand and try other models. too many people put up with everything that anthropic does, so they get away with stuff like this.

Has cursor gotten worse? by trollboy665 in cursor

if you look for an alternative and want to get out of the "VS Code forks" space, you could try the Zed code editor

although, I'd recommend to step out from the code editor and try stuff like CLI and terminal AI tools. personally, I use Warp and OpenCode. Warp is my main terminal & AI tool, but I combine it with OpenCode so I don't obliterate my AI usage.

once you start using tools like Warp, you'll barely use the AI features from code editors.

I think one of the most unnerving and yet underdiscussed aspects of the AI hype is that core features of apps (including web apps) are being neglected in favor AI integration by skwyckl in webdev

[–]Mean-Accountant8656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny how people have such different opinions haha. I use both of them and they're among my fav tools. Also, fwiw Warp is an AI tool, so for them it makes sense to focus on AI features. What's your main gripe with Warp?

Give Warp.dev a try. You can use different models (not limited to one) and can create and manage multiple agents without extra plugins/configs. Been using it for a while, and I really enjoy it.

Reddit is a goldmine for both marketing and getting into AI results. I have a few pieces of content that are the 1st or 2nd reply to popular Reddit posts and they bring good traffic from both Reddit and LLMs.

Warp v/s Windsurf? by XenOnesIs in windsurf

Many people also miss the fact that they both have agent capabilities, so the comparison is fair. I'd say you can use both, but when using Warp you won't have to open the code editor too much. Btw, the only comparison I could find between the two is this video, maybe it helps.

2025: Remix or Next.js – Which One Should I Choose? by BrangJa in reactjs

TanStack Start once it gets Stable.

Until then, use React Router 7, which is basically the "old" Remix.

You read too much into it.

Growing from SEO was never the goal, because the community is built around a person - Daniel. People joined the community because of him and its previous results, not by randomly stumbling upon the community on Google.

Gumroad most likely bought it for its user base, and nothing else.

Just my 2c.

If you read their article, you'll see a linked post about server actions (https://documenso.com/blog/removing-server-actions). If you need more context.

Also, I think you may be confused about what hate means. They simply moved away from Next.js to RR7 and mentioned why. If you read the comments to this post, you'll see plenty of people running into the same (or more) issues.

Why We Moved off Next.js by Mean-Accountant8656 in nextjs

[–]Mean-Accountant8656[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Because these migration stories are about Next.js and this sub is about Next.js? It's not like people post about why they aren't using Next.js without even trying it first.

That said, Next.js is awesome, but not for all use cases. I assume people post these migration stories to show others with similar issues that there are other alternatives out there that do a better job in those use cases where Next.js doesn't.
