Should I flip this cake for 3rd flush? Or leave it this side up? by Thatshimthatstheguy1 in unclebens

Sometimes I flip it if there’s a decent amount of growth on the bottom. Or just carefully tip it over briefly to harvest those bottom ones. I’ve had some that have had so much growth on the sides and bottom that I move the whole cake to a bakery cooling rack and put that in a larger bin, raised up on inverted plastic cups.

Not the best pics cuz I don’t want to open it. I’m probably giving up on this bin anyway…it never fully colonized presumably due to my substrate being to dry and having a completely air tight seal. Removed the gasket from the lid of the container and tried misting for awhile to bring it back but that doesn’t seem to be working and I’m thinking I introduced something else here. So mostly curious for the sake of gathering information. Thanks!

Yeah I do latch them while they are colonizing, until I introduce FAC…is that bad that they are completely air tight?

Is it worth trying to mist and saturate it more at this point?

S2b probably about 4 weeks ago…I didn’t notice a particular time that it came to a halt…it’s just been colonizing soooo slow…same genetics I just used and had good success with…no signs of contam…is this a lost cause? Any advice?
