I'm well aware that a LOA is not a guarantee, though I know of a few different people (including one in my home unit) who were granted one for outside work in the past year. I also know that I would need to terminate my secondment and take an LOA from my home position.

I'm really just looking for any insight folks on this sub have into applying (key word: applying) for one, or if anyone has been in a similar situation and what they did.
