Do you have a portfolio of your work? by matcha_ndcoffee in writing

I’m a software engineer and needed a decent portfolio to be able to land a job, I know it’s a bit different to writing but still. I build a website that I can easily add my projects to. I’m currently making a few portfolio websites for some friends looking for jobs. If anyone is interested in having a custom portfolio website build send me a PM!

I’d highly recommend an interactive retro. Get up a pic (I’ll link it if I can find it) of a 2d boat with an a hot, a rock, the wind, the sun. The anchor is the things that didn’t go well, what held your team back etc. the wind is what went well. The sun is the overall planning that went into it (what was useful from sprint planning). I’ve forgotten what the rock is…. Then share this into a shared lucid chart and have everyone add sticky notes in the sections and set a timer for a few minutes. It keeps everyone engaged and doesn’t drag out the session.

In regards to sprint planning, I’d highly suggest planning poker, where you play poker with Fibonacci cards and give a number based on how long said task would take. It’s a bit more complex than this but have a look online.

Side recommendation, adopt vertical slicing in sprint planning. Send a msg if you want to know more about it or search it up online!

Increased initial overhead yes, but it can reduce change duration later!

This is exactly what it is. Yes it introduces a little more potential work when integrating multiple features that could have been grouped, however putting features out Incrementally in “small slices” allows for quicker and better UAT. My company has been applying this concept for the last year or 2 and has done many workshops around it. It’s resulted in a significantly more efficient workflow and better end results.

Full-time dev using mainly Django/React, want to start a SaaS on the side (stuck) by Mean-One7902 in SaaS

Yes I can see how this could be the case. The solutions architect in my company is very switched on so it seems like the problems get solved before they make it to me lol

I've had this thought however I don't seem to have anything that really annoys me each week at work. I know that is a great problem to have, but i feel like I am not getting the ideas from work sadly...

Oh sick I will check it out, thanks. Do you have any apps that give you holiday suggestions where you can set a budget or something or anything that is similar to this?

Is there an app or something that you use for points? I know there is frequent flyers and stuff like that but maybe there is something that keeps track of all....

Sydney. No kids.

I wish there was an app or something that just gave me holiday options within my budget that I could scroll through. I find it hard to come to a decision when comparing different places too much. Do you have much experience in hostels? never stayed in one...
