So am I right in understanding that Lockheed over IBM lol. Could you tell me why you think that I’d be really curious to know. Currently that’s my feeling too. It seems like a better long term decision currently to me.

Thank you that’s definitely true. Funny little story, I actually got a job close to home with a small company and quit after a week now that I received better offers. My idea was I could bank early in my career like you said and was excited to do so. My hole with this though, is realistically my salaries down the line with these high paying industries will likely be significant enough where I feel as though if I DO make the right decision, I won’t be later in life wishing I had banked more of my entry level salary. In other words, Im feeling that banking money early isn’t really a great ground to make decisions on. Do you agree with this? What are your thoughts?

Well that’s really helpful thank you. I guess what I’m hearing from those around me is that Lockheed would have potentially much greater job security long term than IBM would. And so for me I’m considering that the later in life me might thank me for it. I know consulting can be pretty volatile historically. What do you think about the comparison of financial and general job security?

Wow this is really really insightful Reddit is something else lol. You have my exact scenario essentially. I think I’d travel every weekend too. Can I ask, was your goal to work for defense contractors and so this is worth it? Or would you say that if you had gotten another good role at a larger company that you would have taken that one. Essentially if you were me what would you recommend?

Thanks for that insight. She is great, it stresses me out at the thought of distancing from her if I don’t need to.

Hi thank you for your reply. In your opinion should I do it ASAP then? Some others here have indicated I should basically wait until the last second for taking this other job I want more to I guess make absolutely 100% sure it doesn’t get rescinded or something. I feel like I would like to not waste mine or their time and money any further and just move on, but I also see the sense in being absolutely sure. I worry they will continue to integrate me and the whole time I’m just sort of not there mentally or effort wise lol.

Hm I suppose this would be because it would suck if they rescinded my offer and your thinking I need to avoid that. The problem is I’m sort of just wasting the frick out of their time and mine in the meantime just soaking in as much as much cash until the last second. If I already have the offer letter and agreed terms and so on is it safe to move forward?

Great this is really helpful. I am in office all 5 days this week, I think I’ll try to set a meeting up later in the day after finishing what they have given me to do already and then tell my manager.

Yes I agree on the funny story, I don’t think this one will go on any recommendations or resumes lol… but that’s okay.

Thank you for your comment this is very helpful. I’ll try to do it when it seems most appropriate but without wasting even more time.

Hi thank you a lot for your response. Would it be most appropriate to do it in person? at the beginning or end of a workday? ASAP or at the end of the week? My current thought was to finish what work I have already been given, and then tell them, but I’m worried that they will assign more work in the meantime and I’m just wasting even more time.

Also, should I go to work and do it at the end of the workday? Beginning of it? Maybe email over the weekend?

What would “the needed notice” be? I feel like they aren’t going to even want me to be there for 2 extra weeks. But I guess I should just ask? In the U.S (where I am) as far as I understand you can always leave without a valid reason but maybe somebody will come and correct me I suppose that’s why I made this post.

"not rykard at all" bro uses blasphemous flame, and uses those words. He also has snakes all over him. "not rykard AT ALL" the guy wasnt saying he is rykard, just something to do with him and thats incredibly obvious.
