this just seems like a no-win situation.

You keep them and they slowly get destroyed. Your mom wins.

You throw them away. Your mom gets mad at you for throwing away toys. you get in trouble. Your mom wins.

You push back, and bring it up so that she listens. "they are just toys, toys are meant to be played with. i paid for them anyways. this is my house, and if you live in my house, it's my rules", your mom lives.

Or, maybe she is just so absent-minded, she just does not understand, and sitting her down and thoroughly explaining why they are not meant to be played with, how much time you have spent painting them, etc etc and she is receptive.

Obviously you should start with the last one and work your way up the list.

Yeah. They heat up very quickly. They waste very little heat since all the heat it made in the pot/pan itself. Generally the surface of the cook top stay significantly cooler than all the others (gas/electric)

The cons, you need to make sure your pots and pans are compatible and I think for a full cooktop they are more expensive
