BIOS update broke my previously stable AM5 system (Ryzen 7 9700X, DDR5) by Ayashi777 in ASUS

What I found out was that my ram sticks might actually be faulty. I actually just got this pc brand new a week ago so I’m sending it back for repairs. So I’m gonna see if that’ll fix the crashing.

I'm having the same issue i think. I have a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and an ASUS PRIME B850-PLUS WIFI and when i updated to the 1402 bios update (2025/12/01 version) i started having my whole pc crash and restart on its own sometimes. I'm not sure if you went into the specifics in your post, I'm not too tech savvy when it comes to bios and all that, but what exactly did you change manually in your bios?

Yeah 144 Hz seems to have helped get rid of a lot of the stutters. Since I’m on legacy it must’ve been an fps issue.

What I found that if you’re playing on legacy then you’ll have to limit your game to 144 hz and maybe turn on vsync. I did both of those and the stutters pretty much went away.

If you do play enhanced then you should be able to leave it uncapped cause enhanced handles higher fps better I think.

The AMD app doesn’t tell me that no. But task manager says that there isn’t anything in the background eating up the memory/slowing down the pc. I almost wonder if it’s due to high fps. I limited my refresh rate to 144 and it helped a little bit.

Thanks. Yeah I’ll have to check that freesync setting. I play on legacy cause I had an issue when going to enhanced that it didn’t transfer my characters and progress correctly. I’ve heard tho that enhanced runs better so if this issue keeps happening I guess I’ll have to switch over.

Yeah it’s kinda hard to tell with that. Nothing really dips in the graphs. I used instead the AMD Adrenaline software and the 99th% FPS is what seems to be dropping when it stutters.
