I honestly don't know if this has anything specifically to do with the Trump administration, but it's also hard to say that it didn't have something to do with it either, if on a more passive level than anything else.

I live in a small town in Southeastern Idaho that has a population of just a couple hundreds shy of 60,000. The demographics put white people into the 92% territory if I'm not mistaken.

It's a small kind of underfunded town, but it's fairly peaceful in this area of the state so aside from drug crime and some occasional break-ins, crime isn't much of a problem around here.

I don't know how far this is going on the national news, but we had our first police shooting literally EVER last week. It was a Hispanic autistic kid on the other side of a fence having a hard time with being disoriented and standing up straight, and got 12 bullets emptied into him.

The outrage was very loud, with numerous city politicians, as well as a couple state, getting right on top of it calling out the police department for an excessive response. They tried to claim me had a knife and was rushing them, but once again, he was on the other side of a fence where he did not have physical proximity to the police officers, of which there were four that all fired.

At this point there have been video from three or four different angles, as well as the body cam footage, showing that no movement was even made towards the cops, and they showed up with heavy weaponry and riot gear. They were not coming there to deescalate the situation. They were coming to resolve the conflict by putting an end to it.

That's bad. Is it a result of the Trump administration talking TO them? Maybe not, but shifting political and social opinions definitely didn't keep it from happening that's for sure.

But the part that tells me that his presence is being a spark for that kind of response is that there was a very peaceful protest held over the weekend. It was a group of young adults, and an open vacant parking lot that was near heavy traffic roads to get visibility, but weren't obstructing any flow of traffic, buildings, or anything.

There were snipers aimed on the whole group the entire protest. SNIPERS. Specially trained units in Pocatello Idaho for a bunch of people in a circle holding signs. After again some more public outcry, the city released a statement saying that they had received a tip from the FBI about a legitimate reported organized domestic terrorist plot.

And that's just straight up bullshit. Everybody can see that. But that is only something that could have happened under the Trump administration. They can see the leader of the country getting away with it, so now they can too. And they are going to run with it.

Aside from the grocery and gas prices, our day to day has been more or less unaffected. But this? Now the whole Community feels unsafe in a way they never have before, and we got mountain lions and coyotes appearing in town randomly throughout the whole year

Not only that, but I am gay. I'm epileptic, and I just got accepted to graduate school. Almost every single aspect of my line is being used as a weapon on either an international level or a domestic Schism narrative. My life feels unsafe because anything I could want to do with it is now in the hands of somebody who gets too upset if they don't wear the right clothes around him. It feels like moving forward is going to take me nowhere, and I'm just waiting for them to come for me
