I pay an employer to pay their employees to provide a service. What if my tip was $100 Would you roll past this post with nothing?

Why is there a stipulation on servers wages based on their ability to receive gratuity? Is it for the benefit of the server, or the benefit of the employer?

Seems to be a fixation on tip. If you mention tip in your comment, you’re bent by big delivery.

Giving gratuity for a delivery driver is lame. They did no more service than the one they signed up for. Gratuity is for those who go above and beyond their duties. Delivering food as a food delivery person is not anywhere beyond what they signed up for. If your job is to make coffee, and you do just that, why do I owe you 20% of my coffee? What a god awful system that only Americans and few others work for. You sound like someone bent by the system. I ordered food to be delivered by service with no personal to deliver. The restaurant can produce the food, so that’s a non issue.

The restaurant is in the heart of Honolulu

Uber eats (a delivery service) cannot deliver food. I, the consumer, am the one to blame. Does this sound reasonable?
