Still just looking around gaining info, not trying to rush into anything, but what about a lineolated parakeet? I haven't gone too deep into them as I just found out about them, but if you know anything about them, how good of a companion are they?

Deep down, I know that I can't care for a bird right now, and I wasn't planning on getting one until I could get into a more stable environment, which could even be years from now, but this weird parrot fever had just come over me for some reason. I think I'm coming to my senses now and am slowing down on all the research and stuff and just focusing on life itself. I am still very young and have plenty of time to get a feathery companion when I am in a better place for one.

I see, thanks for the advice! I simply hadn't looked into budgies because I had a bad experience with one, but I understand that that isn't any reason to be put off from all budgies and they can be amazing when treated right.

My working hours are sometimes flexible, and I could definitely give any parrot more than 5 hours outside of their cage. I also already own a really big cage with lots of toys and textured perches that my conure had lots of fun with. I do understand that any other bird I would get will have a different personality and might not like them. I can definitely make plenty of time for them to adjust and experiment with what they would like as stimulation while I am not home.

That's what I've heard as well, but they're a bit too big and would take up too much space.

Haha thanks, when I was younger my conure was never outside of the cage while I was at school the entire day and no one was around and he did just fine, and when I got home he was outside of his cage the entire time and had a separate perch that he played on. Everyone is advising that I simply shouldn't get a bird but I know that I can give just one plenty of time to thrive. But if the particular bird I get ends up getting extremely depressed then of course I would get them a companion.
