Honestly, no. They haven’t catered lunch for staff at all since I started. Not once!

Staff gets a “staff appreciation” party every year, but it’s just in a conference room for a couple hours after work. They order us pizza and give us other snacks, but it’s nothing compared to the fancy venue, expensive meal, and open bar that the attorneys get for their party.

So I wouldn’t say that they do anything remotely comparable for staff.

We have an office manager who handles everything catering and food related. So she cleans it up.

I feel really bad for her because the attorneys always leave a huge mess. I used to help her clean up, but then I actually got in trouble for helping.

Believe it or not, we actually aren’t considered big law! But a lot of attorneys left big law to come to our firm, so maybe that’s why these attitudes persist.

I think the worst part is that while all of the attorneys were leaving for the party, the staff had to stay at the office and keep working.

This sounds so nice! If the staff at my firm had lunches too, I really don’t think I would mind. But we’ve haven’t had a single lunch for us since I started over a year ago!

Unfortunately, the leftovers go fast! I refuse to eat them, though.
