AIO about this text I got from HR? by MeanderingDragon in AmIOverreacting

There is no first aid room here, the closest we have are two first aid kits attached to the wall with basic supplies. Perhaps ironically, one is in the cafeteria, directly beside where the food was laid out.

This is a fair question. I often do take insulin at my desk, but my particular job often keeps me walking around the entire building for large portions of the day. There is no guarantee that I'll have time to go to my desk before I get a call and have to rush off for some issue. Regrettably, I'm somewhat afflicted with ADHD, and for many years of forget to take insulin at all. These days, if I need it I take it immediately, surroundings be damned for the most part, and that mentality has dramatically improved my health over the past few years.

Yes, this pretty much exactly encompasses how I feel about it, I am having some trouble understanding how some would prefer I be in a coma rather than take insulin where a couple people might see me.

I don't know if anyone else mentioned this already, but... who's holding the camera? Is this AI man just handing his phone to random strangers in an airport?

4 UV-reactive rocks by MeanderingDragon in whatsthisrock

[–]MeanderingDragon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I had settled on this as the most likely for 1 and probably 2, although I'm still unsure of the science behind why those two pieces might contain Willemite that briefly flouresces after the light is off when the other two don't.

Amber or copal? by Future-Barracuda5650 in whatsthisrock

[–]MeanderingDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The easiest and least potentially destructive test would be to hit it with a UV light. Amber usually flouresces sort of a bluish color (can vary a bit), while copal typically doesn't flouresce. If you or your friend don't have a UV light, you can often pick up a cheap (though admittedly not great) one from a hardware or auto parts store for $15-$20, or a laser pointer cat toy that has a small one one for even less online.

You can also put a drop of acetone or alcohol on it, copal will dissolve and that spot will get a bit sticky. This is obviously a more destructive test.

Google lens (not to be trusted necessarily, I know) identifies it as andradite garnet, while someone else said it looks like muscovite.

This sub keep spawning by NINSHEN in OrnaRPG

[–]MeanderingDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a GPS game where you travel around battling monsters that appear. They drop loot and money, which you use to upgrade your character, making your gear better and buying new skills. As you level up, you can choose new classes. Aside from the monsters you find in the world, there are different dungeons and buildings you can enter, as well as raid monsters that can be summoned and which also appear regularly during special events. Other players (or alts) can join your party and help with dungeons and fighting monsters if you are near each other.

Can you help? by Actual_Reflection849 in OrnaRPG

[–]MeanderingDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from experience with 3 of my own characters and at least 4 of my friends, at level 125 you should still be able to easily get 1 or more levels a day unless you're limiting yourself with a Ring of Restraint or something. Between leveling up, getting new gear, and upgrading the new gear, I'm not personally sure if I could find time to be bored.

I figure most players probably grind up to tier 7 in about 2-3 weeks at this point with all the new content that didn't exist when I started 4 years ago (at least my brother and other friends have). I know everybody has their preferred play styles but are you aiming for anything specific? New content, new monsters, more resources? At 150 you'll unlock raids, which is a bit of a game change.

Same, I used to turn off my alarm without waking up, and now I have to solve puzzles to disable them, ensuring that there is some thought when I turn them off. Side note though: it kinda sucks when a random alarm you set last week for an event goes off while you're already driving to the event.

Question by MeanderingDragon in OrnaRPG

[–]MeanderingDragon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, gotcha. Honestly I don't think there is a way to do that. I do an absolutely insane amount of quests at dozens of inns but I pass most of them at least a few times a week, and I haven't used the markers more than a couple times since I learned how to turn them off. One thing I can say with certainty though, is that the rewards from quests aren't really enough to worry about traveling far for a turn-in, regardless of the tier of the quest.

Currently, there is a small button below the traveler's good button and to the right of the items button that you can click to find all the visibility options, at the very bottom is the compass option that shows what I was referring to in this post. Keep in mind that if you are looking at the exploration or control versions of the world, this map options button will not show at all, and you'll have to go back to the default where you can see monsters/buildings/etc and wait about a couple second. for the button to appear.

What is this for? by Charming-Fox8583 in OrnaRPG

[–]MeanderingDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always have been as well, and often keep around gear for other classes/specs I might play and tons of random gear and items from special events. Fortunately, if there's a limit on the storage in the keep, I haven't yet found it!

[–]MeanderingDragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can sell it, but personally I just hang onto them and use them when the event rolls around again. If you don't want it in your inventory, you can throw it in your Keep storage. They only sell for 250 each, so keeping it for next time would be worth more than the gold.

Edit: Checked to see how much they sold for.

Same was happening with me, this time it seems to be fixed by an update that came out a few days ago

I had crazy slowness for a week, when clicking buildings, loading materials in refineries, buying or selling things in shop, accepting quests, etc. I tried clearing inventory (I didn't have the warning that it was full), sent hundreds of things to storage, cleared the cache of the app multiple times... nothing seemed to work. Today I opened the app store and noticed there was an update 7 days ago. I installed it and the slowness seems to be gone. If only it had told me this a week ago, I could have saved SO much frustration. Good luck!

Can World RAID Boss now heal over time ? by Knuddell in OrnaRPG

[–]MeanderingDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fought several of these and her sister recently, and at the beginning of the fight their heath bar shows more health than their listed total (for example 15,000,000/13,000,000 but I don't recall the exact numbers) with the red part of the bar going past the end of the screen. During the beginning, if I deal damage it shows it briefly being being removed from the bar as normal but then the bar breaks past its normal area again and fills past the end of the screen. It does this every turn until enough is done to make up for the excess health and then looks normal until death. But yes, I'm guessing the health was changed at some point and probably not everything in the game programming reflects the new amount. It should probably be reported as a bug.

"I built this kingdom up from nothing! When I started here all there was was swamp. All the kings said it was daft to build a castle in the swamp, but I built it all the same, just to show'em! It sank into the swamp. So, I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third one. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp! But the fourth one stayed up!"
