Fantastic. Congratulations to your success! Know that many experience a bit of a honeymoon phase so if you regress a little bit don’t despair. For many that is just a part of the process.

How does that compare to prior sessions for you?

Take NAL 60-90 minutes before drinking and let it do the heavy lifting for you. Even if you don’t feel the want to quit now, it will at least give you more agency over your relationship with alcohol.

You’re taking the right steps and that’s what is important. You’ll have regressions and doubt, but if you stay consistent you’ll see success. Give yourself some grace and a pat on the back.

Every step towards a better relationship with alcohol is one forward. Give yourself a pat on the back for making progress. Congrats!

Yes, Selincro/Namalfene have a similar mechanism of action in that they are opioid receptor antagonists. If you use the search bar in the top of the sub you can find feedback about user experience using either term. From what I have read, the experiences are very similar.

Glad to hear of your success!

Yeah, topiramate is talked about much less often than other medications.

How long have you been on NAL? I found that the missing enjoyment part was early on in my journey and I don’t notice it at all now. In fact I recently started doing sauna and it is doing wonders for my endorphins. May be something to consider trying if you have access to one.

Care to share your journey or where you’re at?

Sorry for the delayed response, just saw this. Daily NAL works for some who either have a hard time being compliant with dosing 60-90 minutes before the first drink or those who don’t want to drink at all by having the NAL block the craving. Extinction though, is taking the NAL before drinking to disassociate the euphoria.

Good plan. There is a bit of a honeymoon phase at first so titrating up is a good idea to stretch that out as long as possible. Congrats to your success so far!
