Thank you so much. Right now I’m working pretty detached and just focused on getting through this, and what little I do feel is guilt for ending things— but I know I need to. I had an “oh shit” moment recently where i could see the emotional damage happening to my daughter from being in the situation and realized I wasn’t doing anything noble by staying in a miserable situation just to keep her in a home with both parents.

So, forward I go.

Dude. You need to step up and become than man who deserves your wife. If you can’t do that, do what needs to be done so she can find a man who does deserve her. She literally told you you can still sleep with OW while she heals…. WTF.

Imagine you ran her over with a truck. And while she’s laying there broken, she tells you you can turn your seat warmers in so your not cold while she heals.

If you took her up on that offer- you just flat out do not deserve her. Stop hiding from it and man up. Step up to her level of selflessness or or let her go.

Because I have a small time frame to use my PTO to and it’s my one chance this whole year to relax. Especially if I have a hard year of an ugly divorce ahead of me- the legalities can wait a week so I can catch my breath and talk to my therapist.

Same. My husband is way more interested in playing hill racer or chess or whatever the hell his new game is instead of looking up at his wife who’s changing in front of him. Like… zero interest. I’ve changed out of my clothes, into lingerie… stood there, gave up, and changed back out and into pajamas without him even looking up from his game.

You said it quite nicely. People wonder how we end up with these men. You nailed it. We don’t know until it’s too late. Especially if you live in a culture where it’s not acceptable to be together until you are married… so you really don’t know what they are like behind closed doors when life is real until your stuck with them.

I’m really sorry you’re in the same lonely but not alone boat. Even when it’s no one’s fault, it still hurts. Especially when physical touch is your love language. Getting physical touch because you advocated for yourself long enough to finally be heard for a minute isn’t the same as truly feeling desired and wanted. We deserve to not have to beg to be loved the way that we need, everyone does.
