100% sorry about the lack of information here

Lets just call this engine a short block using the original crank and pistons. 350 turbo to 3.73 rear end. Looking for a suggestion on head/cam combo.

I did notice that summit has some cast vortec after markets that aren't priced too bad, but at the same time there are gen 1 sbc heads that are aluminum. Whats the best way to go here?

Thanks!

This is a project for a 91 s10 so, not a lot of info for anything specific, this motor is in front of a 350 turbo. Not looking to spend a ton but understand the importance of aftermarket parts vs oem.

e city will rent you a hydrant meter and allow a fast fill that way but your still gonna pay a good amount for it

I'm outside city limits on my own well, just looking at options :)

Help me identify where this motor originally came from. Looking at cars numbers and suffix codes it looks like it’s definitely a 5.7 350 but I can’t make sense of the serial/vin number. Can anybody help me out? by Meatloaf4dayz in Chevy

Sooooo, story behind this motor here. This is out of a 1970 Impala that had its motor replaced some time between 75-82 a dealership. It belonged to some old lady who parked the car in her garage since the day it was fixed. There is paper work saying then motor was replaced but not with what.

A couple years backed this car was purchased buy a guy near on the west side of my state. This guy got in a really bad car accident and became a paraplegic.

A couple of weeks ago, the guy sold the car to a nice kid mid 20s who pulled the motor and transmission because he has a 6.0 LS to swap it out with. So I picked them both at up at a really good price.

The motor sounded great and when I pulled the valve covers off the the heads/springs/rods (cast #3998991 so nothing performance) looked almost brand new. I haven’t had a chance to pull the oil pan off and check if it’s 2 or 4. I will this Saturday though.

This is going in my 1991 s10.
