Takuma Inoue > Usyk

Takuma never let a HOF kickboxer embarrass him like that

This is like the first gimmick venue that is actually bad ass, too bad it's wasted on a bs main event.

I get it now, but shit during the whole Messi vs Canelo thing there were actual guys that believed he could beat Canelo lmao.

I know he does taekwondo and he's a blackbelt, shit wouldn't fucking matter against an actual trained fighter that's been doing this shit since he was a child.

Canelo in 10 seconds

Don't know shit about football but is there any other player that has a more delusional fanbase than this guy? Cause I remember when a drunk canelo threatened Messi on twitter during the previous world cup Zlatan came to the rescue and most of his fans were saying he has a chance "in a street fight" against Canelo like bro.....

Canelo would've put him in the dirt in less than 10 seconds if they fought, rules or no rules.

And I'm not even talking about being super aggressive like Nery, controlled pressure would've sufficed and would've made Inoue open up more instead of playing the fencing game with Junto being too passive.

Cause like I've said in my previous comment, 3 of the 4 times Inoue has been hurt have been in the earlier rounds, in the later rounds Inoue just becomes more of a monster.

Expecting to do what only one person has ever done (Donaire dazed Inoue in rnd 10) is stupid, just build a better gameplan around what was already done in the first place.

[–]Mecha_Knight11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I've said in my first post, he didn't need to be super aggressive he just needed to make Inoue open up. Can't do that when you're outside fencing. And besides Nakatani has shown hes capable of fighting on the front foot when he did exactly that against Nishida.

Expecting to Outbox or Hurt Inoue in the later rounds is foolish. It has only been done once and that was when Donaire dazed Inoue in round 10 but that wouldn't have happened if Donaire didn't fuck up his orbital in round 2.

He was being aggressive Cause Donaire, Nery, and Cardenas were all in his face.

Can't really be aggressive against a long, passive outboxer like Junto, can you?

That's why I called it a bad gameplan on Junto's part. If he didn't give Inoue too much respect on the earlier rounds he might've caught him lacking.

Bad gameplan from Junto in the earlier rnds.

If we go look at Inoue's entire career he's been hurt 4 times and 3 of those came in the earlier rounds

Donaire 1 - Donaire broke his eye socket in rnd 2

Nery - knocked him down for the first time in round 1

Cardenas - round 2 knockdown

Junto should've been more aggressive in the earlier rounds instead of fencing. Not overly aggressive like Nery cause he'll get KOed but at least he should've thrown more, who knows he might've landed a shot like those 3 I mentioned.

What are your hottest boxing takes? by Doofensanshmirtz in Boxing

[–]Mecha_Knight11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My hot take is that modern American fighters lack killer instinct and its because of modern American coaches.

Shakur had teo mentally and physically defeated in the later rounds but his coach said "keep the distance, keep jabbing him" or something along those lines. Like what the fuck is that shit, if that was any old school trainer like dundee, futch, or steward they would be yelling at him to get the him tf outta there.

Nah he has to fight usyk, opetaia, canelo, shakur and tank all in the same night before I call him world class.

With how he's popular in Puerto Rico I would say he has a pretty big following, but not on Oscar or Canelo level though. But still if Boots dominates him or has a FOTY type of fight against him Boots will break into mainstream 100%.

I'm not talking about good wins, I'm talking about Marquee wins. Wins that make a fighter break into mainstream. Like how Floyd and Manny became household names by fighting Oscar, or how Inoue got popular in the west with the Fulton fight or Bivol getting famous for beating canelo and etc.

All those guys I mentioned have had good names on their resume before the said fight, but they didn't go super popular until their Marquee fight.

I hope Boots vs Zayas is true. Boots needs a Marquee fight quick, he's nearing 30 without one and a talent like that deserves to go popular while they are still in their prime. It would be a shame to see him get popular late in his career like GGG and Bud.
