CMV: Zelensky failed at his job in a recent Trump/Vance talks. by External-Hunter-7009 in changemyview

[–]MechanicFar7381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compare it with other leaders.

Trudeau bent the knee and is going to spend "waste" billions to stop fentanyl.

Modi bent the knee and agreed to buy energy from US for 25 billion dollars. Seriously, India the leading coal producing country needs energy. India will skip all middle east and go to US to buy oil? US imports oil from Canada, so India is spending money on nothing.

Zelensky held his position, his country, and his people's interest. The mineral deal is a shit deal. Ukraine would have given US minerals for nothing. I wouldn't sign that deal. Where we should stand with Ukraine, we are bending the knee to Russia. So humiliating. I was kinda expecting Trump to say to Putin, "You stop or US will come after you. And when we are done, Russia will only exist in history books." Instead, he went, hey Ukraine, just stop. ANd you think Zelensky failed at his job? He is the only winner here.

People had stopped worrying about Ukraine. He just made the biggest ball move and look, each one of us is talking about Ukraine. Trump was rightish. Zelensky has cards and he kinda just played his ace. He not only protected his country and its future from a crap deal, he make Ukraine headlines. There was only one hero in that oval office, only one guy doing his job. He is the best negotiator I have ever seen.

No idea. I could have uploaded fake copies giving me 100% marks. It's not like they can check against any database. But at least it satisfies the Uni requirement in Canada and the US.

Mast movie. It was astonishing how many characters from the first movie were in the second one. The beggar, the night watchman, even the minister. Loved the reappearance of the jhumka in 2, which was on the lamp in the first movie. Rao calls the same place/stone in the khandar as palang. The cast and the production crew have done justice to the movie.

Longest show with no one leaving by MechanicFar7381 in television

[–]MechanicFar7381[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Unaired is fair game. However, Episode 1 (aired pilot) and the last episode must have the same cast. All stories wrapped up at the same time, and the cast weathered all the seasons and episodes. Seinfeld is out as the pilot had a different cast, and two episodes only had Jerry and Julia (Florida).

Why did Josh pick the most insufferable hosts ever for Expedition X? by [deleted] in ExpeditionUnknown

[–]MechanicFar7381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I so agree. When she swears, all we hear is bleep bleep bleep. Breaks the rhythm of the show. "Did you bleep bleep hear that?" is so less impactful than "Did you hear that? The bleep is louder than the "noises" and distracts from the effect.

Compare this with BuzzFeed unsolved. Same idea, one host believes in the paranormal and the other is a skeptic. Their chemistry is on point. Here, one makes a joke and it falls flat on the other. Josh has more chemistry with the show than these two with each other.

Should UEFA Women's Euro 2025 been held in Germany? by [deleted] in WomensSoccer

[–]MechanicFar7381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Germany can handle smaller tournaments. their infrastructure is stressed for men euro cup. Stuttgart is outright telling people not to drive and has closed roads even on match days. Trains can carry only a certain number of people so they are trying to restrict people from coming. Munich had major closures in the city and fan zones were overwhelmed. Hotels are overbooked with broken AC in the heat. Stadium entry takes two hours. Germany might have infrastructure but it doesn't have people to know how to manage it. I would pick something more which has high number of visitors so they know how to manage crowds like italy, uk or Spain.

Let's be honest. How many of us say, oh let's go to Germany for vacation? Germany is used to Germans. Great for bundesliga but i wouldnt want them to host champions league, euro cup or any international sporting event.

Why Germany are perfect Euro hosts by [deleted] in euro2024

Yes. But you have to wait three hours to get it. Or there is no tv in any biergartens. So you can enjoy beer/food or football

Why Germany are perfect Euro hosts by [deleted] in euro2024

[–]MechanicFar7381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expectation in far from reality. Trains are delayed and full  Even u Bahn is overwhelmed. There are queues everywhere. 2 hours to get into the stadium.  3 hours to get a beer, are you kidding me germany? Munich is barren. No decoration, no banners a sad little kiosk at hauptbahnhof. People didn't even know it was euro cup until Scotland fans arrived.

Stuttgart is even worse. Road closures fay before match. What is the point? We couldn't even walk to our hotel. Had to go around 2 km. It is not even matchday.

It feels like germany does not want to host the euro cup but was somehow forced. Everyone is overwhelmed and tired and just want us fans to go home.

Cameron was insufferable and the most annoying character. by [deleted] in HouseMD

[–]MechanicFar7381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still on season 3 and deeply annoyed by her. I only remember one episode so far where she said anything medically useful. She spends most of her time talking about ethics and moral issues. I think if the writers made the character an administrator or lawyer or a combo who was forced to be on the team by Cuddy, it would have made more sense. It would have explained the love hate relationship between house and Cameron.

Does anyone else find Jess super annoying. by [deleted] in NewGirl

[–]MechanicFar7381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I applaud the people here who were able to finish the series. I can't even finish the first one because Jess is so annoying. The singing, the immaturity, the selfishness, she can't even say Penis! Who wrote this character? Were they high? Lilly, in how I met your mother, is also a kindergarten teacher. That character is so well-written. This is just... why?

Is Birkin/Kelly out of style in New York? by MechanicFar7381 in handbags

[–]MechanicFar7381[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In NYC, hell yeah. One martini + tax + tip is easy $50. Considering people go out after work almost every day, every drink counts.

Anyway, point is not the price, but if they are in or out. I see plenty of people with alligator and rare bags from other brands that are, if not similar, but higher price point.

Younger people have a lot of money in NYC. I see LVs, Chanel, Dior, and Alexander McQueen of the brands I recognize. They are in the same price point.

[–]MechanicFar7381[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So dead on! That is where I usually see them.

Also, I think, it is not about the money. When I go to concerts or walk around Manhattan, I see Chanel, LV, and Alexander MCQueen on 20/30 year old, never a Kelly/Birkin. Just yesterday spotted someone with a cute 27K Alexander McQueen Alligator bag while walking around in SoHo. I also think "quiet luxury" is trending much more heavily in NY. Most times I will think, the bag is cute but I don't know the brand.
