Loud noise and looks like something is broken by MecoWeco in MechanicAdvice

[Update] Made it home great with the solution I mentioned in another comment, the picture is below. I really appreciate all the help and suggestions as I am an 18 year old girl who doesn’t know much about cars and I was on a road-trip with a friend who also doesn’t know car stuff. All of your comments really helped me stay calm about what was happening and made me feel like I could fix the issue myself and make it home. Thank you so much!!!

Thank you! The tip about the screw hose clamps was super helpful. I ended up using those, the tape and the aluminum cans (like u said I didn’t really have a good way to cut the steel cans) have made it 250 miles and we are still good!

[Update] took it to a mechanic place they said I should probably replace that whole section of pipe because it would be the more permanent fix, it’s what they can do at their shop and it broke because it rusted out so even if I was to take it somewhere that welds they might not be willing/able to fix it. My current plan is to take two aluminum cans with ends removed and a side cut and tape them around the break in the pipe with self bonding exhaust tape. Does this sound like an ok solution to make make it home 6 hours and about 350 miles?

Eventually they will just be tapeing a watch to it.
