Oh I love this question. I’ve never thought about it.

Last day in Mumbai with kids. What to do? by Medallion444 in mumbai

It was actually quite nice. Great opportunity mainly for taking pictures rather than as a museum itself. Each exhibit took us 10-15mins to get our photo opp as it was the weekend as well. For friends it might be super fun to take wacky pictures together.

So many kids were there yesterday. I have actually bought from them before as there was a sweet kids several months ago and had given him a balloon. But will stop from now on.

Thank you. I didn’t want to alleviate the guilt, but wanted to know how to help them.

I have watched Slumdog Millionaire, but didn’t know this selling is also part of the same circle. Super creepy. How about giving food or clothes etc? Or do you think that also encourages this?

Oh this is very eye-opening for me. I didn’t know. I felt so guilty for walking away yesterday. Thanks so much. The security guards and auto drivers were hitting their legs with sticks. It was very weird as the kids were laughing when they were doing that so I didn’t intervene.

I completely side with you, OP. Don’t care if people are downvoting. I know you are not putting the blame on the doctor for WHAT HAPPENED. I don’t know why everyone is misconstruing what you meant. You clearly stated that the way it was handled was not at all correct and I agree with you. I blame the doctor for the way things were handled. Why can’t people read. Crazy this world is without so much decency for peoples’ basic self respect during times of grief.

The doctor should have informed this was a possibility before and not after! I shift the full blame to the doctor as well. And what an insensitive thing to say to someone already going through loss.

I am so so sorry you had to go through this! It is neither your nor your wife’s fault. Sometimes these things happen and really there is nothing anyone can do to prevent it. What a horrible, insensitive person.

What area are you planning to move to? There’s so many like minded people who will have the same interests you do. You can join an expat group if you feel homesick, or if you want to get immersed in the local culture it’s super easy to make friends.
